Don't worry, They have stopped manufacturing the dk1 and are intentionally running out of parts because they are announcing the dk2 next month at GDC.
So save your money for that or the consumer version. The dk2 with be on par with the Crystal cove prototype.
The only way to get rid of lag in my mind is have data centres ridiculously close to everyone or have quantum entanglement communications for the mass market.
