Nice list! TIE Fighter is the best!

It really does seem like they're scaling back production on games now. And unless Zelda does something that only the Wii U Gamepad can do, it seems likely that Nintendo will do another Twilight Princess with that game.

I'm slightly surprised they didn't do it with Skyward Sword, but they could at least afford to release it on only one console then (100 million install base and such). With just under 1/10th of that for Wii U, I can't see it not releasing on NX ...

I don't think I've ever seen Shawn this upset before; wow.

Some strong points made though; releasing against such strong competition this Fall (The Crew, Driveclub, Forza Horizon 2) is sure to have a negative impact on sales.

They'd be smarter to delay all of the versions to 2015 along with Wii U. Not only would they have a better chance at selling the game but they'd also save face with Wii U fans as well.

It'll be interesting to see if any of them are true in time. Nothing like a Metal Gear Solid game to provoke lots of discussion and theories!

Tower defense games don't usually interest me too much, but this one does seem kinda interesting. Hopefully it'll be in one of Steam's sales sometime soon.

March is almost the "October/November" of Spring releases, it seems. Tons of much anticipated (and usually previously-delayed) games often tend to fall into that month for release.

Also, I almost forgot that Wind Waker came out in March, especially since the last two console ones came out during the Fall.

It's surprising how much it resembles the Scott Pilgrim game, yet it was made by a different developer. In any case, nice to see that it's a quality beat 'em up.

Yeah, I've always been interested in roguelikes but have never really gotten around to playing one. This looks like it could be the game to get me to finally play one.

It's unfortunate that EA had to go and make the single player online-always. They really should have an option to log in online (just to authenticate if they're really worried about it) and then play offline so you don't have to worry about servers going down. That's essentially what they did with StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, and while it isn't as good as being able to play totally offline, it's better than always-online DRM.

It's great to see that Platinum Games really came through on this game, especially after that year to year and a half where the game was in development hell (before Platinum took over the project).

Well, that's a shame. They were on a roll for the first two weeks, but I guess we can't expect something free every week. Does anybody remember how many free games PS+ got in North America last month? I think it was only one or two; maybe I'm forgetting some.

Great article! I'm actually a little surprised we haven't seen any games that deal with feminism yet. Seems like a good concept for Ken Levine and his team at Irrational to tackle in their next game after Bioshock Infinite is finished.
