There is a whole scene for that, trust me, I've been down the piracy road. Virus infested game copies will catch a few people, but they will be sorted out within hours, to make room for the (warning in advance, this may sound awkward) "legit" copies. I still pirate games from time to time, like Terminator Salvation, no demo, movie game-sidekick, bad reviews, still got me curious because of coop, but 10 minutes into it I hit the exit button, then the delete button.

This type of thing only works if the running game "knows" it has been altered. Hackers get passed that as easy as disc checking. If the game "thinks" it's legit, it will act like one.
Settlers 3 has spawned infinite critters out of houses, causing the performance to go down to 1 frame per minute, until it finally crashed. 3 hours later, a new crack appeared and the problem was solved.

The PS2 wasn't a DVD player with gaming capabilities, it combined them, the games were on DVD, allowing the developers to step over previous boundries they had to keep in mind before that.
The BluRay in the PS3 is the same, it doesn't play "DVD games" and "BluRay movies", the games are on BluRay, again, breaking previous boundries.

I actually don't believe it will come to the PS3.
But let's just assume it does, in a year, PS3 owners have so many exclusive titles to fill in the gap, not to mention awesome multi platforms like Assassins Creed 2 or Final Fantasy XIII, I don't think anyone is going to cry for it, but it would be a nice addition to the PS3 game library if it would indeed come.
Well I live in Germany, but this affects me as well, sites like Gametrailers.com are based in the US and they are affected by it. The ESRB is pulling mafia tactics on websites like GT, they had to take down all Fallout 3 media that was provided by Bethesda because the ESRP was putting pressure on Bethesda, there was a loophole where GT could still provide the footage they have made themself, like interviews or gameplay videos they shot.

I haven't been able to spot the analog stick on it, and it hasn't been mentioned in any of the info we recieved since E3, I've seen some prototype images of it where it had a analog stick on it and I really hope they haven't removed it.
If they did, the "Wand" is just another device for casuals to play with in my opinion. I was hoping to see full arm control, like swords and shileds, while being able to move your character with an analog stick at the same time.

I can download 100 MB within 26 seconds with my 32 MBit connection, it takes 1 hour to download 14000 MB, granted I get full speed, which 90% of time is NOT the case.
Microsofts plan to "kill" BluRay fails at the drawing board, you don't kill a physical media, services like that offer an alternative, not a replacement. It is even more sad that people behind their 1-3 MBit connections with 20 GB bandwidth cap get all excited about it.
To this day I still wait for Killer Instinct 3, but I just can't see it happening with Microsofts claws wrapped around them. If you look back, Rare disappeared from the "Awesome developers" list around the time they have been acquired by Microsoft, coincidence? Doubt it.
So far MS has used the team for nothing but kids games and abominations of nature (Miivatars), Viva Pinata, Nuts and Bolts, nothing comes close to their Nintendo lineup back in the day, Killer Instinct...
We were out on a double date the other day, the girlfriend of my buddy knew about the slim, asked me if I would get a PS3 now, despite knowing me and that I am a passionate gamer for like a year now she didn't know I already own a PS3, that's how much of a gamer she is, and she knew! Not from my buddy though, as he is not much of a gamer as well, she also said it was on the news.
Actually GT PSP features over 800 cars, while Forza 3 features around 400 cars.
