"£1 which'll cost like 0.01 pence worth of bandwith, so £0.99 of that would go to the companies, I seriously doubt these cost too much"
Does Sony take a cut? Because even if it's 20%, that's 0.20p more they don't get. And then, ultimately, they'll have to pay tax, etc.
It doesn't sound worth it at all, to be honest.
... would have a field day with this one!
Because the PS2 was the most success games console of all time (yes, even more so than any of the Gameboys), and it has a massive collection of games available.
There are a number of gamers on this site with a great number of PS2 games which they'd like to play on the PS3, and therefore allow them to pack their PS2s away. They'd also be able to play their PS2 games with wireless controllers, as well as enjoying the games upscaled.
Hopefully this is one of those things where they're going to tell people they're not making it, so the press and everyone gets off their backs and leaves them to it. Somewhat like Starcraft 2.
For me, these sorts of services won't work, because I don't keep my games. I tend to play them and then trade them in against another title. The game I trade against has usually also been reduced in price, which means I get games even cheaper.
Microsoft should really have allowed the Gold Subscribers to digitally "rent" one of the titles instead. When they're done playing it, they could select another game to rent.
There were some mumbling about Sony doing ...
"But Batman and superheros are cheesy fantasy."
Yep; and people LOVE fantasy and escapism. That's why Harry Potter, Twilight, Transformers, X-Men, Iron Man, Shrek, Hellboy, Spider-Man, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc., etc. are so popular.
And being a gamer, I thought you might get that.
They're not exactly small downloads, though. So I hope you have a good provider, otherwise it could take just as long.

... people think that because there is a firmware update with nothing apparent and obvious on the surface, that it means there is something secret and fishy going on.
It's likely just a maintenance release.
There could be stuff going on like, if you do X, Y and Z, the PS3 locks up; that, under certain circumstances, the OS is leaking memory after you quit every game, and will prevent the system functioning after a few hours without a hard reset; or something else tha...
£9.99 would have been better. £11.99 appears considerably more because there is an extra digit.
Timed Exclusive = You'll just have to wait a little longer to get my money, Mr Brown.
"There's not much chit-chat. Don't expect long-winded conversations about the savagery of war, observations of the frailty of human society or concerns over the destruction of a planet; the Gears movie (so far, at least) is a place for stupid one-liners and ultra-violence."
Oh dear. This is why game to movie translations simply don't work - they think that all people want to see is a 90 minute action sequence. Any character development, guys..?

... after all, no one has ever said that 512MB of RAM will be enough for Project Natal.
I was actually aware of this coming for sometime! It's great to see that Team 17 are willing to invest in a non-Worms project. Hopefully it'll be a financial success for them and they'll return to their former glory.
(From what I understand, Team 17 have been stuck in a rut where they usually only make enough money from making a Worms game to enable them to develop another - anything else was considered too much of a risk to the future of the company).
No Dungeons and Dragons: Tower of Doom or Shadow Over Mystara yet, then... :(
It came to the Saturn. Why not PSN and Xbox Live?
However, inviting an XBox 360 fan to participate in this program breaks that self-imposed rule.
Everyone from the UK should send a complaint to the BBC, since this is obvious bias. The timing, just two weeks after the release of the PS3 Slim, is also highly suspect.
