Give it a go, like me i think you will be pleasantly surprised. I dont have many games that require you to look up and down besides zombie U.
But i can say that having the option to play games on the gamepad on the shitter or in bed is a bloody boon.(my bedroom is above my mancave which has a toilet. The fact i can watch youtube on my gamepad makes me smile.
I have not seen any lag issues unless i am no longer within signal range. I adore the gamepad.

I understand your underlying point, but having the same character does not make it the same game. Could it be said that the cars in Gran Turismo are the same as every game released before it and the gameplay changed only marginally.
Mario platformer is different from mario kart which is different from smash bros, which in turn is different from the 3d marios.
