For years Kojima has been trying to pass the series off to his team, and now he seems confident in this product and if he wasn't he would have shut it down like he did the original Rising.
They are already have one foot in the right direction. If you are interested I'm sure this game will deliver.
From the interviews it seems like Kojima Pro and P* are truly cooperating to make a good game worthy of the name Metal Gear.

Hopefully this will appease the fans that are still angry about Rising. The story so far doesn't even sound as corny as people thought it would be. It makes sense for the world to still be messed up after the destruction of the Patriots.
The reason people aren't against the Lara Croft reboot because it's a straight forward prequel reboot that shows her becoming the strong female protagonist people know and love. She is still Lara Croft from before just young and inexperienced.
