Thats not true.. there are ppl who for example discovered cure are super rich due patent..
If this is true, thats even worse.. i do t understand, why ppl are still there.. They should leave or setup own company
Wow, 17 years in one game company is great achievement for him and for company also ..
@Trilithon
Why it should make money back? They already made 600 millions, pretty successful projects ;)
I dont think that games which cost a lot to operate will be in the gamepass ever.. thats business nonsense
They should prohibit to run own hardware, only own store and own user acquisition (ie ads), this is shady and raping devs..Changing store algorithms to favors own ads service, killing organics dawnloads and forcing devs to use apple ads or google ads its really bad for devs and games.. don’t understand why any journalists are not writing about it.. you get 30% fee and than you are forced to spend money on user acquisition :(
Devs are getting bullied, not megacorp
Sony gave them money to make game, they failed and you are complaining that Sony is bad?
I assume that ATVi have vesting for employees, so they will benefit from it also…
without gamepass they will never release it in this state… more shitty games are happy for game pass money or exclusivity , so they recover at least something
What are you expecting? That he will say that its broken, but they have to release because it already cost a lot of money ;)
Haha, we should be able to flag stupid articles …
These numbers are only from games, but google and apple own ads service for user acquisition and pushing developers to use them… so final numbers are a lot of higher
@artgamer yes, since 2000, used to work on AAA, indies stuff, different positions from low level to too management, than back to indie and again to top…
Outsourcing is great, remote is great… but you have to have core team working together, committed to achieve somethibg great…
But again it depending on what you want… if something great, innovative or avarage or cash cow…
Ask yourself as player what you want ;)
You j...
Its very hard to make good games with remote players only… for remote works, culture is different, you cannot play together, brainstorm things, team is not bonded together, its very hard to motivate ppl through screens, etc… games are not commodities , its one of the most creative business, very hard, fulll of wrong ways, prototypes, iterations, etc.. every department has to find best way to achieve it together, you cannot completely split it…
Everybody should know that subscription is was to hell.. its not movies or music industry, developer making money only from sells, we dont have concerts or cinemas…
Its same as with singleplayer or any other games.. not everything is successful, its normal.
yeah, you are right. it's from top to down. Im just saying that its not white or black and we don't see the whole picture, just rant on Twitter.. I have experienced a lot of scenarios during my 25 years in the game industry.
I dunno, always blame management or company… but this game is bad, full of the bugs, bad design, not fixable… it was even disaster when they shown game for first time and game was delayed…
its probably fault of whole team, from top to down, than just leadership
Why waste? Money didn’t disappear, just changed owner.. hope he bought a lot of indie games ;)
