I don't care what anyone says... That's just fckn ridiculous.
"The words "Nintendoomed" often come to mind when discussing Nintendo's current financial situation"
Why? 10+ billion, cash in the bank. Over 500 million is assets.
A profitable handheld system...
Lol. They're the most financial "gaming" company in the business...
This makes no sense.
"dying breed"
Was he referring to analysts who can actually predict anything?
Pahcter for Village Shayman!
Iwata is discussing his views on their target market for the titles mentioned. And it's a worthy ideal to bring the family into any shared activities...
But I don't see how his comment implies Wii U being a secondary console. I guess only time will tell that one.
This is nothing but good, if true.
Mario can take a rest after 3D World... Then it's time for Zelda U, Metroid and Starfox to make an appearance...
Lol at this article...
That is a bargain deal... Especially hot on the heels of Origins. If you haven't played A.C then dude, go there...
Car models are looking really good. I want to support the Wii U on this one. Hopefully the final game is also representative of their hard efforts.
Performance being equally as important to my support on the U...
Nintendo you are guilty, guilty, guilty of an acute infliction called "fun addiction"
What I want to know is... where can I sign up?
Mario 3d World is not "safe". It's genre bending.
Pikmin 3 is not 'safe". It defines it's own genre.
Wii/ Wii U party games a a tad on the safe side, but that can be explained due to the target market.
Same could be said of the Smash and Kart crowd, but lets be honest, if you manage to create such a large user base for certain IP's, it's better to push the innovation in terms of a balance between trying new things and keeping...
Why not both?
I think the answer to this question is rather simple. They have an HD console and a plethora of games that would benefit from a little make-over.
The only time this would be an issue is if new projects gave way in priority to remakes, which lets face it is not likely...
WW HD was not just a simple HD conversion and that was done in 6 months by a skeleton crew (albeit a skilled one).
Converting 64 and up to HD for all Nintendo's back catalogue of successful hits wil...
Wow, ok....
Where to start? So although the Wii U is a great great HD console from Nintendo. When it comes to games optimised with a full gamut of effects and a 60fps target, I guarantee that Wii U is most definitely a 720p native machine at heart...
I see a lot of games this time next year all looking fantastic running in 720p native @ 60fps up-scaled to 1080p (Wii U does really nice and clean up-scaling).
But if we are to consider complex games featuring the...
I can't stop going back to Skyrim, even the level of detail is a lot higher visually in AC3 for eg. I still prefer those amazing vistas you get at every turn in Skyrim.
I don't want Zelda to be anything like how the Elder Scrolls play, but I do hope Nintendo can capture their own version of a massive and gorgeous open world environment. It doesn't need to BE open world exactly, Zelda games have always been more methodical by nature. But at least provide a true sen...

If the level of detail in Mario 3D World is anything to go by, the next true Zelda title is going to blow a lot of people away...
On 3D World, what was recently shown during the latest direct is a lot more complex than the build shown during E3... It's like a completely different game almost in terms of detail, lighting, effects etc...
I heard that Zelda for Wii U has the largest team and budget ever for a first party Nintendo game. This has to = greatness. Their finish an...
Nice little opinion piece, but I think looking at the line up for Wii U, it will be ok.
You know most of the biggest multiplats for the remaining few months of 2013; AC4, Watch Dogs, Batman Arkham Origins, COD Ghosts are all coming out for Wii U... Of the 4m Wii U owners, I highly doubt many of them interested in third party games are going to pick up any of those titles on next gen, when they can save a buck supporting the U.
Then there's the exclusives yet to be release...
The Wii U gamepad is just as innovative as any other idea Nintendo has pioneered into the world of gaming...
If they had the chance of launching Wii U last Nov with Mario 3D Land, WW HD and Pikmin 3 in quick succession they would not have gone through the drought they did in the past 10 months.
I think the value in Wii U is beginning to become more apparent as Nintendo start to release these critical titles...
Day one purchase!
