I was expecting hand to hand combat based from the title. This is close quarters combat, but it's all guns ablazin'.

I love how I state what I prefer and I get all the disagrees. Whatever though, I just know that I don't have any issues with them.
As for the people who have the issues with R1 and L1 being the main firing buttons, in most games you can re-map the buttons to where you like, just a heads up.

I liked the first one, and this one looks so good. The Crytek engine seems to be running pretty well, and you've gotta love the destructible vegetation.

I wish people would also realize Sony wasn't trying to make anyone feel less than adequate with their 1080i tv, they were just trying to make a joke (and I'm sure they wish they hadn't now).
While I think anyone who knew about the downtime hoped it was about fw 2.40, I kinda doubt many of us honestly thought that was what it was about, especially after seeing the warnings from various sites saying it was unrelated.
I can say that I can't wait for it to be released, and my expectation is that it will probably be an E3 announcement, with the update coming that same day.
E3 would be a sweet place for a Rock Band 2 announcement, and maybe also an announcement of The Beatles music inclusion?!?!
Basically just think of them as special goals that are there if you would like to achieve them. It's really not a new concept, even for Sony. Even Crash Bandicoot (and probably even earlier games) had goals to reach after you completed the game.
As for you not being online, I have to say you are missing out on a major part of videogaming. Even if you don't want to play against other people, there are updates, upgrades, and much more to do when you're online. I'd highly recomm...

First of all, I'm not a PS3 Fanboy, I'm proudly a 3 console guy, and I have no preferential treatment toward any of them, I just appreciate the games. If you had checked my profile, you would have seen all 3 of my gamertags, so no flame war from me.
As for the update, the story was posted pre-update, and was obviously worth posting as it's gotten me 500 points. So stop your M$ Fanboy flaming and get on with your life.
