The idea they wanted them for a high selling IP is again a big stretch. Lemmings according to the developer sold 15 million between 1991 and 2006. Sony acquired them in 1993 just 2 years later so sales of that game were nowhere near the 20 million you're claiming they sold at the time they were acquired.

Most of what Psygnosis released before being bought by Sony were on computer platforms like the Commodore and Amiga and not on home consoles. They were also mostly a Publisher with only a handful of games made in-house like Lemmings.

@CrimsonWing69 The 4 days 4 hours mention by @il-JumperMT is actually from an interview done with Hellena Taylor. You can find the video on youtube. From her own mouth she did the first game in 4 days at 4 hours per day. She read each line 3 times according to the interview.
