I say the clear choice for the best next-gen console is.....whatever one you chose to purchase based on your own tastes!
It would be nice if there was some form of "Trade & Save" so that premium owners could get a good deal for the "Elite"
I think giving casual/Hardcore gamers the choice of Core,Premium, or Elite is going to be leverage for MS because its all about what you can afford and how much time you spend gaming so if one likes the Xbox and only plays games here and there with buds then grab the core if you like to game regularly/Hardcore and will need to save campaigns and dynasties and stuff along with download some content from XBL then the Premium is for you and last but not least if you are a flat-out Hardcore gamer...
I think he Xbox "Elite" is worth the big bucks BUT its just not for me...my premium kicks @$$(eat it sony trolls) and I have no need for HDMI since my tv does not support it and my 20 gig HD is just fine with me...the thing is I love the Black BUT meh my current Xbox is just fine.
I own the premium Xbox360 and couldn't care less about the Elite...for now....I am a man who is not made of money SO I will wait for the Elite to drop in price then snag one until then I will be playing my Xbox as usual.
It's all speculation so I am not going to get hyped over a smoke & Mirror strategy.
There could be a number of reason why MS and Wistron parted ways...and I highly doubt anybody on this site can state the 100% true reason..so all people can do is use this as flame bait and/or speculate.
