I like random encounters for one reason: if you have them you can have a bigger game. Showing all monsters at all times can be devastating to the memory on a disc, so if you hid them and created a battlefield and some random encounters, it doesn't have to have all of them loaded at once and can keep the game running smoothly and costing less disc space.

My point of view is this, and this is your spoiler alert: After chapter 9 I feel like they scrapped the main story and tried a different game out. Chapter 13 is a hallway simulator jumpscare puzzle game, compared to open world rpg. You get stripped of your magic (coincidentally) but are still allowed to use the ring and the one sword (which he still pulls out of nowhere..) Your character is also slowed to the point where the best way to complete this chapter is to get the attention of the ene...

As for the "walk" through, I just found the nearest enemy, ran to the next door, targeted the enemy and held triangle. Boom, enemy sucked through dimensions and you get to the door faster. I honestly was disappointed with how they threw out the story after chapter 8 and just started something new.
Tell them you wanted the background theme and it's all justified now.
I personally purchased the collectors edition physical copy, but I considered cancelling it and getting the digital download so I could get the theme. I just prefer to have all of the Final Fantasies as physical copies so I can put them on my gaming shelf.
Also, if you're still worried about the camera system, they said there's supposed to be a day one patch to fix camera problems.
What I'm curious is what they will drop. It's known that cactuar drop some pretty crazy things in the previous games, and in this one they even run away (completely), so I'm curious what they will give for a reward. Maybe a crapton of money or exp.
Wow, Mog and Chocobo Breeding, so exciting. Wow, card games, so exciting. Wow, Chocobo puzzles, so exciting. Wow, Submarine fights, so exciting. You do realize how you're sounding right? You're judging an activity in game with the whole game itself. Keep in mind, you're out there on your own travelling, and fishing seems like a sweet thing to do while you're roadtripping and it helps with food, and probably doesn't pay much of a factor when it comes to the actual gameplay....
Have preordered both of these already. Both look like they will have a lot of potential.
Also, the 13 buffs under the Armiger category. Not sure if these are all good buffs or any significance, but it seems cool how many there are.
Yeah, it looks like I'm going to be roaming aimlessly listening to music. Might find myself in an area wayy too high level for me, but I'll have awesome music playing, so it'd be worth it.
Yesss! I heard about the music while in the car and I thought "man I hope they give me more options than just the FF15 tracks." This news is awesome.
Okay, I have the same feeling towards the sister hate, but I think it's only because of the mechanical ones in FF13. Dual Shivas is fine by me, even a swarm of them, (like shown here) but the machine idea was a little annoying to me. I like this plan here, because it seems like, rather than one completely overpowered summon, it's a mass of smaller, strong creatures joining together to destroy your enemies. Plus, I feel like a massive Shiva would have been a worse idea gameplay-wise.
That and (basically) the same title for nearly all screenshot posts. I'm over here like "have I clicked on this one yet or not?"
I can agree with you to a certain point, but No Man's Sky was expected by many to be a game that nobody promised it would be. By playing Episode Duscae and the Platinum Demo, I can tell that the combat is going to be incredible, and considering it's a Final Fantasy, there's going to be tons of different weapons and hidden components. This is where I draw my hype from, simply because it's something I can rely on (because I have played around with these already).
I agree it's a bit much, but for some gamers, they like to collect rare bits of games they enjoy, (or think they'll enjoy) Steel cases are one example, and often influence the prices directly. For example, Pokemon Sun and Moon each are ~40, but together with the steel case is ~90. This is no different, and considering a lot of people want FF15, a lot of people are willing to pay extra for the collectors items that come with.
I think this is a great video. I watched the first 10 seconds and got insight on how open it's going to be, and it's telling me that I'm definitely going to get lost.
Are we not talking about that massive bird? I have a feeling the massive enemies will make me enjoy this game entirely too much.
Set low expectations and when the game is better, then it's a win for purchasing it. Set high expectations and when a game is worse, you feel like you wasted your money more than if you set your expectations low.
I frequently visit the Final Fantasy XV page for update information, and I saw this listed here. The relationship between Noctis and Lunafreya are nowhere near the "best video game couples." In fact, in the entire game, other than flashbacks, you meet Lunafreya once, and all you get from her is a nod. It doesn't seem "best couple" worthy to me.
