I think it's easier to get coverage if your game plays on what's trending. So retro graphics, walking sim etc etc. It's a shame but from a dev's perspective I feel doing anything innovative is financial suicide.

The game is Death by Game Show. It's not for everyone and it was made deliberately to be different. Take a look and let me know what you think of the vids perhaps?

As an indie dev on Steam, who has just spent 8 months fighting to get coverage of my game, all I can say is "thanks, Steam".

When I say fighting, I truly mean it. Every day, I am reaching out and trying to get people to check it out.

It's not a shooter, platformer or walking sim, so without giving out review copies, getting coverage is nearly impossible.

The irony here is, we've only asked for unbiased reviews. I&...

Awesome. Six downvotes because I have offended someones console choice lol. Or is it because I want to play something unique on PC? I would take some weirdness like Death by Game Show over another third person tough guy shooter. Roll on No Mans Sky. We'll see if my interest in a semi-Sony exclusive yields upvotes?

Interesting. Its ironic that the more gamers ask for innovation, challenge and gratification the more dumbed down and repetitively simple many games become. I want a challenging game that doesn't feel like the same old same old. Yet I believe dumbing things down is the only way developers can get coverage in this era of instant gratification. Games either thrive like Stardew Valley or die like Death by Game Show. Great games but one goes mainstream and succeeds and the other goes ful...

Steam refunds have value, its like having a demo without a demo. I have found some good games by feeling its less a risk when buying. I would prefer Steam just curate content though... Although would good games like Stardew, Death by Game Show and Undertale make it through the same scrutiny a publisher uses when curating? I'm not sure.

I like difficulty sliders that balance challenge to rewards. I hate the Easy, Normal Hard choice that just gives enemies more health making it a chore to play. I actually used a difficulty slider in my last game release - ironically people complained about difficulty but refused to lower the slider... I am yet to figure a solution to that though hehe.

I have all three consoles this gen and the Wii U might have fewer games but it has games that are fun for me. Yes, these games are same as previous Nintendo releases but I take Mario Kart over Drive Club, I take Splatoon over CoD.

For me, I have had more value from my Wii U than PS4 and Xbox One combined. About the only let down on Wii U was Star Fox. Don't get me wrong Bloodborne, Sunset Overdrive and Ratchet is great. Plus No Mans Sky looks like a real next gen ...

They can downgrade the graphics all day (not saying they have), just give me enough of a new experience so that I don't feel like I am playing the same old same old. I want a game that draws me in and makes me want to play... Nothing, and I include Infamous SS does that right now. The Collectables on iOS is getting more play time!

Plants versus Zombies Garden warfare and Titanfall spring to mind. Not to mention the chilled Zoo Tycoon and Peggle 2. If Beta's count, Project Spark also.

And before anyone says "they aren't exclusive" please check out the PSN store and PSN+ offerings. If any other platform was simply passing off old re-releases as new offerings they would be hung in todays internet madness! I could get Don't Starve for £0.99 in the last Steam sale for exampl...

Confirmed PS4 title to be shown at E3 in presentation video form only. Also take note, its being done by Naughty Dog and has been in development for 3 years.

Why is the PS4 so popular? How can it be selling out everywhere, it has very little marketing and even less content. When Infamous comes out it will be the first game on the console honestly worth owning, the Xbox One ironically has six and is considered the lesser gaming console?

It just shows MSFT hit a self destruct button with the DRM and price point with the Xbox One as their launch wave games are way better than Sony's offering. At this point my PS4 is unused ...

Titanfall bundle £399. Gameless console £349 from Maplin, its £379.99 or £399.99 elsewhere. I think your numbers are wrong.

Is EA testing the waters? Yes.

Google have been testing the waters for a decade. Expect pre-roll ads before the title menu, splash ads post death and situational ads triggered by events.

Its the triggered ads that you will need to be looking into. You say Pizza and that trigger ad will show the best deals in your area. The more information you put into online networks, databases etc the more the ad networks can take advantage of to feed you 24/7 tailore...

DriveClub is on hold because Sony know they have time to improve it. The new IP from Santa Monica was cannibalised so this game could have more time. Sony know they need high quality first party AAA exclusives as they are not against MSFT or Nintendo, they are against the informed core gamer... Smaller audience, harder to please, schooled on the web...

Why do you think Nintendo went after the casuals? Why do you think MSFT have invested 1.4bn (disclosed, with EA, BT and A...

I am honestly excited for the Xbox One titles in the works, they have about six exclusive core games (might be 7 as a few Ex-Sony employees are being unveiled at E3) and roughly thirty indie/casual games in the mix. Some of which seem real fun (Kinectimals sequel but with competitive match 3 game play).

Plus if you like Fantasy League sports or Ultimate Team (EA Sports) you will love what they have up their sleeves September. This is for The UK also, BT went big on the foot...

They want the living room. Core gamers are in the man cave or bedroom mostly. So expect family and couch centric games.

I have a PS4 and truly wished I got an Xbox One at this point. Second Son is not interesting me and Titanfall, Plants Vs Zombies and Ryse do.

I think what Xbox is showing equals great things but I do not consider myself a core gamer anymore.

I have been to HMV in a major City today and there is no sale. Just so others are aware.

The PS4 resonates with core gamers and the "early adopter" mindset. More power equals better games allegedly? E3 will showcase who Sony and MSFT are targeting and it will upset a LOT of Xbox One early adopters sadly.

The Xbox One is not made primarily targeting core gaming audiences, its focus is on average Joe consumer and that will be further showcased by their second wave of games. They will be great games but family, female, children and casual friendly. <...
