What I love about Wipeout is that it is a very consistent series. It is always polished and fun.

Why does everything happen around my birthday? My birthday is the 27th of January. What a great birthday present; the possible end of my freedom on the internet.

Very well said. The problem with most people today is that they are too blind to see their hand in front of their face. They think because the upfront price of a device is cheaper, they don't care about the repercussions afterward.

First of all, the 3DS and PSV are not dedicated handheld systems. They are devices focused on gaming. Smartphones cannot say that they are focused on gaming. That was not what they were built for and they never will be. Further, because Handheld gaming systems are focused on gaming, they have been built with community features that mirror their home console counterparts. These features, especially in the Vita, will never be on Smartphones. If they ever are, I wouldn't consider it a p...

If you compare a 4GB SD card to a 4GB Vita Memory Card, it's actually 6 times more for the memory card.

Grr, why did have to miss DHL today?

Bethesda definitely showed us how good their art team is. :) The environment itself is beautiful.

The problem is, no major effort is put into mobile games to make them anything more than high ROI projects. This is why I still say the smart phones will only hold the casual market. Games like Infinity Blade are not ventures into the hardcore realm like people think it is. It's a game that teeters on the fence between hardcore and casual, as it is still a game that can be played mindlessly. The graphics are nice, but people also don't realize that the lighting is baked, any post-p...

@Estranged
Nintendo pretty much plays on nostalgia. If you truly think they don't, take a good hard look at their most successful games. If haven't noticed, they aren't much for new IPs...they just resurrect old ones.
With all things considered, I'm not saying that Sony is any better, especially when it comes to spin-offs...but then again, those usually aren't First Party games.

Oh, look at that, someone else said the same thing. That's exactly what I've been saying. The statistics that these sites tabulate, do not take into account demand for different SKUs. The Wi-Fi version, as knifefight has shown, has a higher demand and many stores were sold out of them. This article just displays that even more, considering it is a sale on the 3G version only.

I'll get Wipeout 2048 first, then Gravity Rush. After that, I'm still deciding.

People also need to take into account that having two different SKUs also adds to the problem. From what I understood, many stores sold out of Wi-Fi versions really fast. I'm not sure how many of each SKU were produced for launch, but that may have had somewhat of an effect on overall sales.

If cnet seriously believes that Sony is going to change their launch plans, they have another thing coming. As for the handheld gaming argument...I do believe that the smartphone market has pulled some of the revenue away from dedicated handheld systems. I do not believe it has removed the need for them and I don't believe it ever will. I believe that handheld gaming has had to move aside on the casual gaming front, but in terms of hardcore support, it has grown. That fact is the reas...

I'm definitely getting this. I've never played P4, so this will be my chance.

I'm still on the fence whether I should just import. I'd rather pre-order the First Edition Bundle and get it week earlier and only pay $350.

I've always been attracted to handheld systems. In fact, the first time I played a game, it was on the original gameboy. I love portable systems and if I never played them, I would have never had the pleasure of enjoying Golden Sun. The GBA, to me, was one of the single greatest handhelds in history.

TBH, I don't see the real point behind them having support for 3G. I understand there are some reasons that don't apply to me, but, to each his or her own. I suppose you could download your games over 3G, but good luck with those atrocious speeds.

My heart smiles in giddy anticipation.

Yes, everything is a conspiracy...but seriously, they did it to lower costs of the initial system and put it at a lower price point.
