It's because most studios rest on the previous success, and don't strive for innovation. It's only when there's limitations do the true greats show what they're made of. Plenty of studios are happy enough to say "we want to do this, this and this but we only have space for one". They'll then develop something which might be magnificent in one area but a total let down in every other area. Whereas someone like Naughty Dog will be more like "We want to ...
All the footage while Sean's playing is identical to the IGN video.
From what I've seen on the No Mans Sky videos, the game looks to have far more diversity than things like Call of Duty, Gran Turismo/Forza or any Sports game all of which have the same $60 price.
"several lifetime when it is the same thing over and over"
as an example see any Call of Duty game, or any Sports game. All these are, is the same thing over and over. From what I've seen of NMS so far it looks to have a lot more diversity than those games which are out every year at full price...
Of course it's low budget, it's an indy game. They haven't had the backing of a huge publisher to get this done. Not to mention all the issues they've had with their studio being flooded.
Just the fact that it's an indy game shouldn't prevent it from being priced the same as a AAA title. The amount of time and energy put into making this deserves the price in my opinion.
There's a difference between quality and boring. You say...
@gangsta - Just because there's no cities doesn't mean there's no aliens to encounter in small or large numbers.
Disks are still the optimal option for me. Any convenience digital downloads give aren't worth an additional 40% on the price in my opinion.
I can get a physical copy of The Division for £39.85 online, whereas buying from the PS Store is £54.99 - that equates to just over 37% price increase, and for what? So I don't have to get out of my chair to change games...
There is multiplayer, unless you're playing offline. It's just the chance of meeting someone else is a little slim. But once you've upgraded your ship to travel further distances you'll be able to warp between star systems - you'll be able to see other start systems that other players have mapped out and you'll be able to visit them. So eventually you'll be able to find your friends, and strangers.
I've not seen anyone who've already played the g...
Given that it's only available on the XBOne (which I don't currently own), and having played the originals, I would say it's not worth owning as it's not a console seller. I'm not going to buy a console I don't currently have just to play a remaster.
That being said I didn't buy a PS4 for any remaster either, though I did buy GTA V again - and I also have the Nathan Drake Collection after having owned all the PS3 versions.
I couldn't change to my pistol - no matter how quickly or how long I held down the button - just kept swapping between the two other weapons.
That was really the only downside I experienced - only played for about an hour or so.
Considering it's a 1:1 scale replica of that section of New York, I'm happy with the graphics. Plus 'poor graphics' isn't something that will prevent me from playing something.
I can't understand why some people only want something to look good, rather than play good. If something only looks good, you get a photo or a movie. If something only plays well you've still got a game.
@morganfell Explain to me how in the previous F4 film Chris Evans and Jessica Alba were considered brother and sister given their different races...I don't see you making an uproar over that.
Voice acting is different to on screen acting, you can cast whoever you think gives the best voice to the character (take The Simpsons for example). While on screen (especially when doing a book or comic) everyone already has an idea of what the character looks like, so someone'...
Everyone I know blasts pretty much every FPS game there's been very little innovation in the last generation
I only owned it for about a month (if that) was boring as hell, just another space FPS...yawn
@ShinMaster
Depends where you shop - Amazon.co.uk has 64gb micro sd card for £16.50 (roughly the same price as a new Blu-Ray movie), any newly released game AAA costs between £40 and £50 usually. Hell you can buy a 128gb card for that price. Solid state is the way to go. not disks and not d/l only
The name changes one should be pretty simple to implement. If they just gave you another option when signing up of a 'Display Name' - you can have the Account Name (IE what people are currently using) and a Display Name - which can be freely changed as and when you want. This way things can still be linked/traced to the true account should they need to be as the account name would never change, just what other users see you named as.
@Kalebninja "With that logic people who got the last of us should have gotten the PS4 version for free."
Firstly, there were a number of games when the current gen launched which did give you the new version for free if you had already bought it for the old gen console.
Secondly - The Last of Us was completely remasered - these are simply upscaled from the original game, a process that can be handled by the machine - not had months of developer input to make them loo...
The only season pass I bought this year (and ever) was Arkham Knight, and that's only because I got the game including the season pass for just £25 at launch.
I think you'll find Sony introduced thier online with the PS2 (around the same time as the original XBox was released), yeah it may not have been 'as standard' but it was there and was always going to be implemented into the PS3 too - nothing to do with the 360s capability.
@silvacrest - Arsenal may not have spend big in recent years but even with that they've always qualified for the group stages of the Champions League. Plus the main reason they've not spent big money is because they've been paying off their stadium - now that's all done, they've remained solvent, kept a fairly high standard and as I said consistently qualified for the CL. Plus given Leicester's success this season, it's proof you don't need to spend huge amou...
