To me its the PS1. Are you kidding me? That console had a GOTY contender in every single genre. And it was the console that revolutionized 3 dimensional exploration worlds such a Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, and Metal Gear Solid.
@annus:
"1080p (aka Full HD/ FHD and BT.709)"
And that says it right there. 1080p aka full HD. Remember, GG never claimed "Full HD". Native 1080p and Full HD which is (1920x1080) are different resolutions. 1280x1080, 960x1080, 1440x1080, and 1600x1080 are all known native 1080p resolutions that have been used over the last few years. They are just not FULL HD, which is what 1920x1080 is.
It sucks that GG and Sony are the ones that now suddenly have to explain to everyone the difference between native 1080p resolutions and Full HD 1920 x 1080. Sony never said that the multiplayer was full HD. A resolution does not have to be 1920 x 1080 to be native 1080p. Its just not Full HD. Its not lying are misleading just because people dont educate themselves on this subject.
@TheOmniGamer:
"You can damage control all you want, if someone tells me there game is running at native 1080p, it better be running at 1920 x 1080 not some some gimp resolution"
No. This is where you have to take it upon yourself to learn the difference between native 1080p and Full HD 1920x1080. Its not lying just because you are not educated on the subject.
"I want the truth from these companies and not be misled."
They get sold as soon as they get in the stores.
@armogangsta:
Okay. You are obviously joking.
@RadioActiveTwinky:
They are talking about when it was first revealed. Not launched.
My vote goes to Chloe and "classic Lara Croft".
@Gamer666:
"In fact, will someone please identify the last game of the year that ran at 1080p and 60 fps?"
Thats kinda a silly thing to say, considering the fact that "game of the year" is basically a console thing and this is the first gen that 1080p 60 fps is even considered on consoles.
Deep Down looks godly.
Looks like its gonna be another fun game for the PS4.
"Hideo Kojima Expresses Undying Love for His PlayStation Consoles: Gun Metal PS3 "Forever Best"
Hmmm? I bet xbox fanboys just love hearing that. lol
@SlapHappyJesus:
Because obviously not every console gamer feels the same way. But do I really need to say that? There are millions of us console gamers. I for one would kill to have the Starcraft franchise to appear on consoles.
@-Foxtrot:
"Name other known games where this has happened. The only one I can think of is Dead Rising 2 Case Zero but it wasnt thay much"
Gran Turismo 5 prologue was another. I can't think of the others right off the top of my head besides the one you named "Dead Rising 2 Case Zero". But I will say this. Ground Zeros is a bit over priced at 40$. It really should not be more than 20$. But if its open world like Phantom Pain is gonna be...
@-Foxtrot:
Okay. You do know that this isn't the first game to release a 40$ "extended demo" right?
"Seriously most gamers are idiots and it saddens me that they don't give a s*** when their actions today could have major consequences in the future. "
lol where were you in the past? We could have definitely used you back when xbox live started to get popular. :)
I agree. But they don't necessarily have to be massively multiplayer online games to be great though. More sandbox and open world games should be the future.
@georgeenoob:
"Shaders, textures, etc. Take Ryse, for example. It's 900p and trumps the graphics of every 1080p game on PS4. "
Whoa! What?? I was actually agreeing with your entire comment until I read that. Because Killzone, definitely has better graphics than Ryse.
Once again, another game that should have been on all platforms. Oh well. Gamers that played that game back in the day are scattered all over the place.
My top 5 list in order:
1. The Last Of Us
2. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of the Patriots
3. Uncharted 2
4. Warhawk
5. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Great news for Sony. 6 million + sold definitely guarantees at least one sequel for that amazing game. Cant wait. :)
