Flashback was created by Paul Cuisset. It is a spiritual connection to Another World, but comes from different creators and has a completely different story. People just relate bem because they come from the same publisher (Delphine) and have similar visual styles.
The true sequel to Another World is SEGA CD's Heart of the Alien, whereas the sequel of Flashback is named Fade to Black.
I don't think Reznor knows much about videogames - he seems to be pretty busy with his own work, parties, drinks and drugs. It's only natural that he likes something that is accessible for beginners like the Wii. Or that he thinks videogames are the same as First Person Shooters like Quake. In that sense, yes, the 360 is right up his alley.
I'd take this seriously had this been said by an expert in the subject. Reznor may know a lot about how to make music by modern standards and...
Exactly, I state that in the text as well - the video is looking far less similar than the initial images presented by Hudson. Many games use Team Ico as an inspiration and I've written about that extensively. And Team Ico games derive from other sources as well.
However we must be careful and measure the lenght of that so called "inspiration". I have no doubt in my mind that these pictures were carefully crafted in order to produce a certain effect: but by summoning up...
If you read the text carefully you will surely understand how important it is to maintain creative integrity. Plagiarism is despised in all other forms of art and entertainment, but it seems like it is very well received by videogame players - who possibly never thought about games as an artistic property worth preserving.
There are several examples of “intertextuality” in the world of videogames, some of them very interesting and essential for any videogame related study in orde...
Indeed. This is a SONY game, always has been. Like Nintendo ever cared about making games about Japanese roots and traditions?
Also the graphics look a lot nicer on a wide screen, since the text, like in the remade PSP version of the first game, appears vertically from the top right corner of the screen.
Such a wonderful series. The PSP deserved more games such as this one.
Well, the other two games got released worldwide. It shouldn't be a difficult process but you never know... these small companies are also going through a hard time. And the games weren't that profitable outside Japan, I think. One can only hope.
Can't you see the harm being done here?
Anyone capable of adding 1 + 1 can see that the series has suffered enough with the last episodes. Now they're actually going to ruin the reputation of the first episode with these CSI-like crappy investigation and sexy police women business.
I think these developers ought to be punished for ruining the name of one of the best game series ever.
Ahahah, what a dreadful choice. Orange box is a good cover? I could have done that montage using the pre-rendered images in Photoshop when I was 8 - though Valve does make great use of fonts. But it's just not enough.
What will they be choosing next? The early cover of Okami on the Wii with the IGN logo on it? Please...
Xi is the title for a Playstation and Playstation 2 game called Devil Dice outside Japan. It's puzzle game that's about matching similar dice faces on a square table by walking upon them. Could that have something to do with it?
They always said that this (Rez) was just the beginning. Maybe now there is the chance to create a sequel and Q? might work together with SEGA in order to create that game? Rez is a SEGA IP anyhow, so if Mizuguchi is working on a sequel he must do so in cooperation with SEGA.
The research for this article was very bad as the author could only produce two or three examples out of dozens of brawlers that have hit the stores in the last generation of consoles, even a couple of them in the current generation. If he had known about this maybe he would not have felt the need to write this redundant article. Sorry: dig deeper next time, man.
I think I know what Jun means: western-developed games are becoming more and more popular all around the world and Japan is their final destination. Halo 3 was very successful in Japan, last year, for one.
I don't think both western and eastern game design are at their best right now, even though there's still a very large difference between US games and Japanese games: I recognize Japan's absolute supremacy in this field, of course. US studios just happen to make their games a l...
I've had one of these for more than a year now, and I can assure you that they're quite interesting - I also got another one with Master System Games. Great and unique consoles, loads of fun. The fact that you can connect it to the TV is also great.
Also, one tip: if you ever purchase one of these, please have in mind that if the games start having control problems, the bateries will be running low.
I sucked the juice out of it already a long time ago.
This is the most ridiculous assertion I've read in years. It's only VAGUELY similar - you grab a whole video and point 10 seconds where the music variation is only loosely similar to that of a certain part of a music from the 1-2 level in Super Mario Bros: and already you think you've got an article worth publishing?
You don't know a thing about music, do you?
Anyone here ever got into design? If you did you would know that there are hundreds of similar logos, that no simple shape such as this one here is exclusive to a brand or company.
What surprises me the most is, who in the world approved this irrelevant article? I can give you 100 more like this one in a minute. Anyone can.
What's so impressive about it?
Didn't you guys play Black for the PS2 or XBOX?
I'm sorry, but this is a question of social acceptance. The life of a Human Being has the same value, whether we talk of a young boy, an old lady, a 5 month baby or a 66 year old man. There are protective instincts, but remember that in our society, children suffer greatly from physical and sexual abuse. It's a double-edge sword: we love children instinctively, but they are also easy targets for domestic violence and sexual perversion
I think that it is a great hypocrisy, making ...
Predictable: yet another Olde Wizard top 10 list.....
This is a rumour: I got a PS Plus account in EU PS Store and there's nothing remotely similar to a Castlevania demo. I'll report this story.
