It just means they will be able to utilise more then they could then the last time. This is possible because Sony unlocks some of the PS3s hidden power. No dev has yet used the PS3 to its max potential yet because Sony doesnt feel its time yet to unleash the consoles full power.
PS3 already matches high end PCs. Its just that Sony isnt willing to unlock all its power yet. Poor PC gamers while they need to keep upgrading, PS3 gets free power upgrades via firmware upgrades. Truely revolutionary.
Not really there are about 50 million PS3s sold but only 1.5 million of us are online during peak times. it just means most of us dont play online.
Sony would never would never act in such a despicable way. Sony only takes away features that they feel we are not ready for yet.
PS3 can easily be doing games @1080p 60fps with 8x - 16x aa its just that sony doesnt like releasing certain features until they feel we are ready for it.
Before any xbox or pc gamer churns in to tell us how xbl or steam are better. Most of us PS3 gamers dont play online. PSN being down rarely effects us. In fact most of us PS3 gamers remain logged in to sites like n4g for our socialising needs. which is why we totally dominate the boards here :p

I bet the only reason why they havent given us BC is because we would get over whelmed with too many games and then wouldnt get time to enjoy the awesome current gen games. I am sure BC is on Sonys to do list, its just that they feel we arent ready for it yet.
Up next we will be getting bc for all the ps2 games. its obvious psp remasters were higher on sonys priority list. comon sony make it happen.

PC stands no chance against the PS3. PS3 does HD graphics.

There aint no need for a tech pushing company like Sony to look toward PC hardware makers. They should go ahead make their own tech. If we wanted shitty PC tech we would build a dam PC.
We really dont need new consoles, the PS3 is already so powerful. All Sony needs to do is release another firmware to unlock some more power and we will be set for another 4-5 years.
Its so awesome Sony decided to not let developers take advantage of the console day one. Now we can actually enjoy progress much like PC gamers see it with every upgrade, yet we dont have to upgrade.

With console we know its gonna be low res, 20-25fps, no mods, we know what are getting :)
With PC so much uncertainty i mean sure 3-4year old pcs may play this at max settings but thats uncertain.
Most of us console gamers would rather take a confirmed low configuration with no options to change things, then say a high to max setting for a 3-4year old PC. Just soo muc...

This really shouldnt be an issue. first of all psn is a free service and most of us ps3 gamers dont play online anyways. there may be 50million ps3s sold but hardly 1.5million of us are online during peak times. hence online failing isnt really an issue for most of us.

Pc is progressing too fast which isnt necessarily a good thing. people dont get to enjoy what is out, before they know it something better is out. this sort of sucks because u never know what best pc has to offer.

It doesnt really matter if BF3 is Sub HD on console. Most of us PS3 gamers actually prefer the blurry look. 1080p is just too sharp for my eyes.
Also its not like we wont be getting a 1080p option, i wouldnt be surprised if afew years from now a HD remake is announced on the PS4, at which time we will be getting the option to buy the game in 1080p, i say its a win win situation. We get to play the game in 720p today and get to play it in 1080p later, PC gamers are stuck in hi...

Thats because they want the console to have a long life. If they unlocked all its power in year one, then u would see no progress for the rest of the consoles life. Hence they impose limitations. remember Ps3 is designed for 120 fps gameplay, we will get there eventually, though #%#@/ much may preassure sony to do so sooner then later.
