Would you say that it 'choked on its aspirations?'
I hated it, but I'm happy that other people love it. Do you know what happens when we all like the same thing? Homogenisation and a lack of choice. Much like soup flavours in the UK...
For those going on about the embargo: An embargo only exists under agreement between publisher and reviewer. If you bought the game yourself, there is no reason - either contractually or ethically - to adhere to some publisher-mandated review date.
He's put a lot of effort into the article and it's rather well-written (though yes, it does have spoilers). That's where my praise ends.
Just because the game doesn't speak to his particular experience, he views it as wrong and in parts 'disgusting' as he puts it. Considering his experience, he's being very narrow-minded.
Beyond the usual forum pond life, most guys have no problem playing as a female and vice versa. What we don't like is being called sexist for liking characters with boobs... there's a very big difference.
I enjoy the new Tomb Raider and I enjoy DOA5. I see no contradiction.
No.
Moving on...
Video gamers still fed up of hearing this same, tired old argument, says new study I did just now.
This could be fun for about five minutes. Ten minutes if they include split-screen.
Delays are understandable, but 'celebrating' them is a bit much. Should I pop open a bottle of champaign or what?
I just about defeated the Cleric Beast and lost all interest. Granted I hadn't paid for it, so I fully accepted it wasn't for me and moved on.
That said, there are literally hundreds of other games to play that are easier and/or do have an easy mode. Know what I did? Played The Witcher 3 instead and loved every minute.
Except if you're spotted you insta-fail. Yeah, no thanks.
Chronicles: China was at least easy to play and it had a rhythm.
India is one of the biggest trainwrecks I've played in a while. 'Tail this guy, don't be seen, time limit. Fail! Die! Repeat.'
You say AC Unity is abysmal then admit to never having played it. Good start. Play games for yourself and THEN comment.
No, it didn't need a campaign in the classic sense. But no galactic conquest? Lazy. No local split-screen for all modes and maps? Lazy.
I like to defend this game because I played it post-patch and had an absolute blast. Then the internet swears at me and I go back to my hole...
Played it for ages and it does seem to be running out of steam, plus it's getting super repetitive. Real shame too... the first few hours are fantastic.
I'm not even going to read this article. I feel it's important you all know that.
So David Jaffe is calling someone else arrogant? Uh-huuhh, pretty sure I have a black kettle around here somewhere...
With that opening, not even worth clicking on.
TC? I haven't once seen Top Cat or Tom Cruise in any of their games...
