I'll rephrase that comment so that it makes sense! ...
the sooner PC piracy dies, the better.
Got 64bit Vista SP1 running here and on a 945G chipset without any issues. Although all my drivers are upto date.
Youve already made your decision which is fair enough but your comments are false or you've been mis-informed.
Theres no reason why you couldnt plug your 5.1 surround system to your PC and get the same 'top-quality' sound. The wireless controller or even wireless keyboard/mouse that you use could probably be used with a PC without any issues. The size of your screen is entirely down to the user, they too could use whatever TV/Monitor with whatever resolution these days as most...
Go on I'll bite. I suppose this comment has come from experience, you've seen both the console and pc versions to tell which looks and plays better?
I'll stick with the PC version myself... Buy the game (at half the price of the console versions), pop it in, couple of minutes after install I'll be playing at higher frame rates, higher resolutions, less loading times and better controls suited to an FPS. Then if need be I can tweak and mod the game to make it better rather than ...
Its a case of another chicken and egg situation. People wont go to Vista because of the poor support, and developers wont support it because the people are staying with XP. Its always the same, people dont like change. Even more so as time goes on as theres less and less for a reason too.
This is getting stupid, lets spend 2/3 months with a 2 man team just to make an installer and couple of graphical options for the PC gamers. This just reeks lame port... and they start moaning when people dont buy this rubbish!
All those pictures are fake. They are real jungle pictures with the crysis gun and hud pasted over the top.
And yet the games are still over twice the price. PC gamers make their money back for a better gfx card (for example) in a couple of months comparing the difference in price for console games.
My system has been dual booted with XP and Vista and havent even touched XP for over months now. Although Im not quite sure I'll format my XP partition just yet ;)
The only problems I get into is when I try to run software not designed for Vista, but then its the same sort of problems I got trying to run PS1 games on my PS2, original XBOX games on my 360 or even 95/98 apps on XP.
I did this from day one, although I have to admit I'm using XP less and less these days.
Theres only 1 winner here and its none of the consoles. Its the websites that hosts these stupid comparisons as they know nothing causes traffic more than a flame war.
Its getting boring (and fast), people know which console they prefer and always boils down to which games they want to play on them.
How would getting your ass constantly kicked give the game more replay value?
Installing the latest 169.09 Nvidia drivers gives me a huge boost in fps in the demo. Highly recommended.
Nothing like another good old pointless next gen console comparison to stir up more flame wars. I couldnt see any real differences myself but I would of much perfered some real direct screen dumps rather than shody camera stills.
True words Gorgon, bubbles for you.
So many people seem to think a huge 720p HDTV gives them a better picture resolution over a standard widescreen monitor.
Funny, I scroll through hordes of comments even from console gamers wanting to play it due to the extra content.
Another way to look at this is the price of games on the consoles. Games are usually more than twice the price on consoles than the PC. Once you've bought several of games you've already made your money back compared to console gaming.
PC users take the hit on hardware, console users take the hit on games. It kinda balances everything out.
Fantastic, not one mention of the PC version of the box.
Excellent, get about 2% and the server disconnects me. Yahoo's servers are terrible!
4Gig is overkill and im running Vista. With the price of RAM these days its a wonder anyone is running less than 2Gig.
