I agree XBox Infinity is more likely. Which is what it actually says at the bottom of the picture. If this is true, I'm sure it will be commonly known as the Infinity.
Funny, isn't it.
@LordHiggens... Considering this quote from the Sony rep... "the company is not focusing on outperforming the Xbox 720 in terms of raw power", and this one "The war won't be won by producing the most powerful system". It doesn't seem like Sony plans on bring a powerhouse to the table.
@Septic... "The war won't be won by producing the most powerful system" was a quote from the Sony insider. Who also said "the company is not focusing on outperforming the Xbox 720 in terms of raw power".
That implies that they will be equal, or the XBox will be more powerful.
Read it again...
In addition, a Sony insider told the site that the company is not focusing on outperforming the Xbox 720 in terms of raw power...
"The war won't be won by producing the most powerful system," the person said.
KingOfOldSkool,
As of this year IE8 has 26% of total marketshare. IE7 has 14%. Firefox 3.6 has 11%. Firefox 3.5 has 9%.
That's twice as much share for recent IE vs Firefox!
1) IE is still 60% of the browser market, so it is relevant.
2) Microsoft is not dropping Flash support. They have never offered 1st class Flash support. It is, and will continue to be a downloadable plug-in.
okay... 3 things:
3) IE9's rendering engine is ungodly fast. I've been running the tech preview (not suitable for generable browsing) and I can't get over how much faster sites render in it.
I was a big Age of Empires fan. I'm hoping Ensemble's console translation of the genre still has the "magic".
Ted Price and Hideo Kojima are nothing like John Carmack! Price is business and strategy (and some game design). Kojima is game design. Carmack is pure technical. He is responsible for bringing gaming into the third dimension in the early 90's. His game engines almost always pave the way for the next generation of game engines from a graphical point of view. People listen to him when he talks about hardware because you could argue that he can squeeze the most out of it more than any oth...
According to the developer, this game will never make the leap to the PC. The control scheme is so oriented to a console controller that it won't play well using the keyboard/mouse paradigm. It is 100% designed for the 360.
The local news in Dallas reported from Newark last night that the story is a fake.
The joke must be on everybody! Microsoft is making money hand-over-fist. Vista is nothing but a name. The real product is an evolutionary code-base that periodically get refactored and released.
Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008 are the exact same kernel. Yes that's right, it's Vista (hailed as the worsed MS OS next to ME) and Server 2008 (hailed as Microsoft's best OS yet). The next version of Windows will be yet another evolution of the code-base (just as Vista was an ...
heyheyhey,
How can XNA be a flop? As a platform it is just starting to get off the ground.
Also, regarding the Flash comment...
1) Flash development tools are NOT free. XNA tools are.
2) Flash games can be played on Windows for free. So can XNA games.
3) Flash games cannot run on the 360. XNA games can, and will be free if the author chooses to release it for free.
4) Flash games are interpreted and cannot come close to th...

That is exactly what Microsoft is doing with Windows Seven.
The big changes in Windows are all going on at the core. There will be basically no resemblance to XP.
In many ways architecturally, the Vista development was the setting stage for being able to evolve to Window Seven. In fact, Windows Seven has more similarities with Windows Server 2008 than either XP or Vista:

Are you implying the command line is the best measure of OS superiority???
You've got to be kidding! I starting using computers in 1980 so I'm no stranger to a command line world. I wouldn't go back to it if you paid me.
In any case the best command line around these days belongs to Windows. You seem to be overlooking Powershell:

The point of Blu-Ray was to help win the HD media market. That strategy is working.
Increasing the media size so games can have more content isn't as viable a stategy. Game content is very expensive and most game studios don't have a good reason to create extra content for the PS3 just because it's possible.
Even facilitating cost reduction for content generation wouldn't be compelling because the cost reductions would apply to 360 content as well. Only fina...
mighty_douche:
Microsoft outsourcing the 360 hardware is not relevant here. The 360 was designed with components that have historically followed a natural cost reduction curve.
Cost cutting was a primary consideration during the design cycle for Microsoft, whereas Sony's primary considerations were bleeding edge technology and Blu-Ray market synergy.
You're assuming that all GTA fans are also Sony fanboys. If GTA is all you are looking for, then the 360 is just as compelling (if not more for this purpose) a platform to buy as the PS3.
Anybody who thinks they know one thing about why that boy killed himself is kidding themselves! Nobody knows what series of events led him to make that decision.
