Because its in early access, therefore its not been released and it is considered a preview.
I had no idea this all had happened and yet they still brought us an incredible series of games. Mad respect to 4A.
Am I correct in thinking the games are actually based on the books or is it the other way around?
Games don't NEED to reward the player, Sea of Thieves is a player-driven game, its entirely up to the player to make their own adventure and memories. The dev's have given a fantastic foundation for that, not everything needs a carrot to chase.
I suppose Chess and Poker aren't sports as well?
I agree, I will always prefer a tighter more polished game with less content than one with a lot of emptiness.
I've been watching a lot of videos and the game seems to be riddled with bugs too, which is really unfortunate because I was quite excited about this one.
I mean what have they got to lose now? They have had the bulk of the sales of the game so now they can throw microtransactions back in without much risk to themselves.
Maybe this is a stepping stone towards it.
You're absolutely right, the original FF7 is so massive that trying to recreate that to today's AAA standard is an enormous undertaking.
I'm glad they mentioned it and didn't gloss over it though.
This is going to be an interesting change to the franchise, I'm interested in seeing the fans reaction.
Just Google early access steam, there is a section in the official Steam description of early access about games releasing. A preview is an insight to the games current state, a review will judge the game on what the developer deems as a fully finished game. The lines are a little more blurry these days because devs continue to support and update their games. You can't give an accurate review of a product that is not 100% complete, therefore preview is a better description for early access...
