As a fan of Bethesda Game Studios’ games, I have this hope that with now being under the Microsoft umbrella, BGS will have significantly more development resources to be able to develop their games more quickly than before their acquisition. Phil Spencer even says in the “Power On” YouTube video series, referring to acquisitioned studios, that their (Xbox) "job is to expedite what they do.” I think (and hope) we’ll see new Elder Scrolls and Fallout games, including perhaps spin-offs like...

"Director's Cut" remasters of Manhunt 1 & 2 please!

I disagree with the article and the related backlash. I think if Nintendo released a newer, more powerful system, this year or the next, this would divide and anger the existing fan base, myself included having owned my Switch for only about 2 years. I play my Switch docked only with a Pro Controller, so the OLED model doesn’t matter to me. What matters to me is Nintendo bringing great 1st party (and indie) games which don’t need to be on the same level, graphically, as games on XSX and PS5. ...

I really enjoyed the remake to Link's Awakening on Switch, and I never played the original. I would really like to see the very first Zelda game, The Legend of Zelda, and maybe Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, get similar remakes. I only played a little of both of those back in the day.

I feel like I have a similar story. I'm new to Xbox consoles with the Series X being my first Xbox console ever. After gaming for only about 20-30 minutes on my Series X controller, I feel the controller's grips (mostly the textured bottom) gets a bit warm to the touch and it's uncomfortable to hold for prolonged play sessions. I've never experienced this with any other controllers I've used on PlayStation, Switch (Pro Controller), and PC (wired Xbox 360 controller). Anyon...

Considering how the planned sale of RTX 3080 video cards recently went where most seemed to have been purchased by scalpers, I think Sony decided recently it was better to just let pre-orders from retailers start right after their showcase knowing fans would be on social media after the event. While there are PS5's on eBay, I think more gamers got more of the PS5 pre-orders than scalpers whom didn't have time to setup their bots. I think a planned release where few gamers got preorder...

Honestly, after reading the headline, I had hoped it meant a deeper story and deeper characters. Still going to get the game on release, but I’m having doubts this will be anywhere as good as The Witcher 3 with regards to story and character depth.

Currently enjoying Subnautica. I'd highly recommend 'Shinsekai: Into the Depths' (Switch) and 'Song of the Deep' (PS4) too.

The character's creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, seems to think differently: “…I think with Mario Bros. we had a setting of course that was underground, so I just decided Mario is a plumber. Let’s put him in New York and he can be Italian. There was really no other deep thought other than that.”

I had no issue with this new character, nor her appearance, but I do have an issue with the fact that you spend half the game playing as this new character (I know cause I’ve finished the game) and she was never named and/or featured in any of the previews, trailers, and even most reviews of this game before release. To me, the initial disservice to her character was committed by the developers themselves.

I think we'll see a black version too; the official Twitter showed a all black controller in the event promotions (yet they only showed the white version for the event) so I think it's safe to say if there's an black controller we'll be getting an all black console option too.
Here is just one of the promotion tweets showing the black controller: https://twitter.com/PlaySta...

I'd say no; I'd honestly rather buy a couple great AAA exclusives per year than subscribe to a service for a few smaller types of games Microsoft is developing with their 1st party studios. Numerous interviews w/ Microsoft's Matt Booty noted this is their strategy with GamePass, basically saying there is less risk with this strategy. So it seems you really can't successfully have it both ways. I prefer playing games where game developers take risks and build great, big games t...

Perhaps now Microsoft is taking their "Jump In" marketing line quite literately.

I'd really like to play some Metroid (my favorite Nintendo IP) on my Switch (sadly nothing on the eShop; only NES & SNES classics thru the online service); particularly would like to see ports/remasters of those on the Gameboy platforms. I'm really hoping we see the rumored new Metroid sidescroller and Prime Trilogy this year. Those would hold me till Prime 4 drops, hopefully next year.

No. The Switch was released not even 3 years ago; it’s way too soon for an upgraded model. I just got one last fall and I’d be pretty annoyed if another model is released this year. I think Nintendo needs to continue to focus on games for at least the next 2 years before introducing new models.

I think its because Microsoft hasn’t really shown a strong investment into Japanese developed games. There are no (nor have ever been any) Microsoft-owned first party studios based in Japan and, per the article, even during the 360 generation where their install base was highest, Microsoft got there mostly by paying Japanese third-party developers for their existing, already in development, games to be exclusive. Whereas both Sony and Nintendo have multiple studios based in Japan and both hav...

Bad comparison as many more people buy phones than game consoles; phones hold a greater demand, therefore can yield a higher price. This is why Stadia is trying to appeal to people whom don’t have, nor buy, consoles as it’s a very large pool of “potential” consumers.

Honestly, I think us gamers here ARE willing to pay $600, or more, for a gaming console, but it has to really bring some amazing features, performance, and most importantly, games. The article references the sl...

Disappointed. The ‘Series X’ name and the ‘Power Your Dreams” slogan seems more akin to a new Lexus. This next gen was Microsoft's opportunity to come out swinging, instead we get this very bland, uninspired vertical black box with the oddest naming convention since the Wii U.

The physical design of the PS4 was eye-catching when released and with that system’s profound success I would’ve expected MS to follow suit with something similarly eye-catching. MS also needed to...

Agree. I also suspect Valve has realized they need more exclusive content as the PC gaming services space has gotten a lot of new competition lately with Epic and other publishers getting proprietary store fronts. Valve has some great IP’s to distinguish themselves here with Half-Life, Portal, and Left 4 Dead, just to name a few.
