They probably meant 10/6.5

If they want this gen to last 10 years there is no way Microsoft is going to keep second place, especially given that the massive Kinect push didn't help them to outpace Sony in overall shipments that much.

People tend to assume that every single trailer in the past had the "ONLY" label, but that's not true at all. 2006 trailers did not, only after first porting rumors surfaced they started carrying it but only until the end of 2007. Then, after the "betrayalton", they slapped again that label on the trailers at least on the 2008 ones, which were released in 2009 on the FFVII: ACC bluray. After that we mostly got closed theatre footage of few seconds, barely worth of bein...

You've got to wonder who's the real handicapped in this situation.

Because both Vesperia and Symphonia 2 bombed according to their sales standards. Tales is not a series that can get away with 100-150k sold in the US, not with all that stuff to dub and translate. Also, Vesperia was timed exclusive either because of funding from Microsoft and also because they tried to appeal to the west, not succeeding.

This looks exactly like Vesperia with celshading turned off. Sadly that trick wouldn't have worked on a game with darker tones.

ToG on Wii = ToS level of sales? So much for "Tales Union", it's like they have grown on trees, as if they don't know the age in which Jrpg sold over 300k in the US has been over for more than 6-7 years. Now only major mainstream series sell, and Tales did its best to stay out of that group thanks to Namco.

Not mentioning that thinking Wii can sell that much of a Jrpg is pure madness.

Of course they are right. After all, Enslaved turned out to be their Uncharted.

As in it didn't chart at all.

Yeah, it sure is a great idea to use Hirano "thick condoms" Aya to sell Kinect in Japan.

If you buy their other titles they will think it's safe to keep pumping out more of those instead of Tales. It's the same crap Sega said about VC: "Buy VC2 and we'll make VC3 on PS3...maybe". VC3 is on PSP "oh, but don't lose hope, maybe someday we'll make VC4 for PS3, so just keep supporting us with VC3!!!". Yeah, right.

They should have begged Sony for the same treatment as Yakuza: full undub.

An even bigger achievement would be beating the game that way. I don't think it's possible even going through every warp zone.

60? Wow, I must commend you for your willpower, I can't get past chapter IV.

"It's soooo bad"

Halo: Reach vs Move in the US
GT5 vs Kinect in Europe and Japan

Sounds fair.

Even Yakuza seemed dead in the West and look how that turned out.

5343d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

That means their next platform won't be called XBOX, that's all.

5346d ago 1 agree5 disagreeView comment

Huh

Greenberg was probably referring to the end of October when he said 45 mln, not at the Q2 data, which means that if Sony said the same thing they would probably be well past 42 mln now.

The only way to surprise fans (in a very negative way, control the game with one analog only will be hell, plus the game not going above 30fps and not enough polygons to allow mutilations) is to announce it for 3DS.

PS3 wouldn't surprise anybody for Hayashi has made two games for console, and the XBOX has quite the history with the series as well.

I hope I am wrong, but it's better to hold back my hype until they announce the platform.

Ok, that's it. We are fu**ed.

He nailed it though: Japanese have skills but lack motivation, Western devs struggle to stay afloat, they have technical knowledge but barely know how to put it to good use.

A hardcore gamer takes seriously whatever game he's playing, a casual gamer plays just to spend some time.

The guy who wrote the article is completely wrong.

"The majority of people (from my experience) don’t necessarily play games to have fun anymore. They play to get to the top rank in multiplayer to get whatever incredibly overpowered toy the developer threw into the game, or to get the greatest killstreak in the game, which kills everything on t...
