1. Being rushed out the door a year early to pad out its installed base numbers
2. Was 200 dollars cheaper than the much more powerful PS3

The Xbox One doesn't have the luxury of the RRoD and all the other absurd hardware problems the 360 was plagued with that led Xbox fans to buy console after console hoping to finally get a console that functioned properly. Those 10s of millions of duplicate consoles sold last gen are being bought this gen with the Xbox One....
