I wouldn't necessarily say it's stupid, or that it's just SJWs that entertain the idea. It's entirely possible to take offense from something that wasn't meant to cause offense. But the real notion is this: do we need to "censor" things to avoid hurting the feelings of others? Or does everyone need to "suck it up" and move on? It's a thin line, and it's a hard one to pin down sometimes.
Seeing as my Reddit subs are blowing up for both sides of this, yeah I'd say it's making a pretty big splash in the community.
