by those numbers after for months, the N64 outsold the PS2 and we know how that went.

VGA and component simply dont have the bandwidth to support 1080p resolutions after fast refresh rates, when high Frames per Second are being incorporated. DVI and HDMI both have much larger bandwidths and allow for much higher data transfer speeds. Although analog is perfectly usable for 1080i at high rates of both, 1080p may not allow enough data in VGA or component.

Its not as simple as that, the port it self I don't think is all digital compatible. This is where it gets trick Component is a combination analog/digital. The y (green), and the Pb (blue) and Pr represent analog connections, while YCrBr represents a digital component connection. The YPbPr uses three cables while the YCrBr uses one. VGA is also still analog. HDMI and DVI are the two main digital connections for gaming purposes presently.

You could have a cable, possibly a converter (although I have not heard of a component to HDMI converter), the main problem is the lack of a HDMI port. HDMI is a digital to digital connection. This is basically sending out 1's and 0's in very high quantities. Without a port the signal would be sent out analog, have to be converted to digital, then converted by the TV (unless DLP) back to analog for processing and displayed digitally. So, in essence that port allows output in digital, the ...

I was thinking core most likely, but then it does make sense. If you are going to be spending high end, you would choose the elite, and if you go cheap you would pick up the 120gb HD for I'm hearing about $120 versus the $100 20 gb HD. So you will probably see a core drop to $200 with accessories and harddrives recouping the losses in the coming months. My bet $100 off core annoucement coming very, very soon, ie April to coincide with the launch of this thing.

Is kind of shocking but it does make sense since the 20 GB hard drive will be replaced by the 120 gig hard drive, I'm hearing a price of around $120 for the hard drive versus the $99 for the 20gb. So it does make sense to drop the core console package probably to $199 and rely on the hard drive purchases down the road to raise costs back to the $300 range.

His arguement is the sales are being outpaced by the original Xbox, and that over half of the original xbox owners have yet to pick up a xbox 360 because of no Halo. So... doesn't that mean that when Halo 3 launches and map packs are available for 360 owners exclusively, that you will not see console sales rise? That guy must be dense, you will see more media hype when Halo 3 launches, than anything yet.

Also, there may be hits for the 360 but this is a completely new generat...

I'm not rehashing this again, I've gone into major detail on how the Xenos is much more advanced than the RSX. Has been always will be (period). Secondly, great press for the PS3, this sounds like it was written by some of the fan boys from this site who can't be bothered to do research. Hopefully, this article will secure more PS3 pre-orders and help out in Europe.

As for negative press in the US? The press was all touting the PS3 prior-to launch all the way through Chri...

have only played multiplayer to be honest. =) The original it was a set of points for regular and another set for the hard, so would imagine it would be the same don't quote me on that.

Are commenting on what feature set the machines have in Australia and what games are popular there? Lol, wasn't this right after the Europeans were telling the Americans their tastes are different in a million flame wars? lol. Just kinda funny to me. The only parts I see in the article as possibly wrong would be the games of choice (which maybe completely accurate for down under) and media content for the two systems (again maybe completely accurate for down under).

PS3 and PSP have never been officially annouced timeframe wise by Ubisoft, only other site reporting the release date would coincide with PC when in fact the only confirmation they are coming to either at all, is Coming soon listed in the screen shot section for both.

MGS4 a PS3 exclusive. Biggest reason this probably happened was Capcom was happy with Dead Rising's success and wants to cash in big. This game (even though not my favorite franchise) will sell to almost 1/2 of both systems owners, so you figure 5-8 millions 360 owners at launch and 2-6 million PS3 owners (depends on how sales go) at launch. So, 7-14 better than 2-6 million.

then checked through google to confirm from other sites, lol thought it was ironic, this story just happened to be 20 minutes older.

Not my favorite series, 1 was ground breaking and 2 and were fun but not really super ground breaking like the first, but still will be fun to pick up. Less exclusives mean more chances for gamers to experience what others say they have to check out. Its alot like Ninja Gaiden coming to PS3, something new for people to experience.

but none of those had repeatedly been back by the developing company saying this will be PS3 only, as in the case of Metal Gear Solid 4.

Guess depends on your system a very high end system should put 1080p graphics to the test some monitors and graphics cards go 1920x1200.
