Why gets valve always with this?

@ToonarmY

1. you mean Hz, not mHz

2. most lcd/led monitors above 60 hz just use motion interpolation

3.anything above 60 hz is just perceived is as smoothness , which also can be achieved by just interpolating a 60 fps source into 100/120/... hz (like most 100 hz tv's monitors do)

@others

The BenQ XL2420T does seem to accept true 120 fps signals, but it's truly a waste of time, money and electricity....

Sigh...

your monitor only shows 60 fps, even if your game runs at 90 fps. Those extra frames are thus pointless
and a waste of electricity.

Your PC will also degrade much faster because you let it run at full capacity (= constant high temperatures)

but you have to login after three days,

on the PS3 you never have to login to play your games

probably just placebo-effect

BS

i have both the original and the hd versions of mgs1,2 and peace walker.

They only increased the resolution for mgs2 and mgs3 , nothing else changed.

For peace walker they increased resolution, added rumble and added right stick support. That's it.

brainwashed much?

The possibility to re-sell goods is a fundamental aspect of the market system.
It punishes developers who sell games without any replay value, like Crysis.

It also nullifies the effects of hype, cuz people will re-sell overhyped games who turn out to be shit.

@vulcan

you're right , but i have 2 remarks:

1. software rendering is rendering graphics on the CPU, take note that the devs can also write their own implementation of dx 11 effects in DX9 code (or openGL on the PS3).

2. "Gotta eat up that hype consoles boys OM NOM NOM! Seriously though.."

I would be more ashamed of the neckbeards shouting HUR DUR CONSOLES CANNOT DO DX11. Most people here aren't even able to...

seriously this comment page makes me want to die,

Everything is possible on every machine, in the 90's people even did raytracing on 30 mhz Commodore amigas. It only took a long time to render (sometimes more than a day to render 1 frame :p)

developers can always write their own 'dx11 effects' with an older API, the downside of this is that it will be more GPU (or CPU) intensive to render these effects.

EVERYTHING is possible on ...

what are you talking about ? Firsly : even single core cpu's can handle multitasking (trough timesharing for example, this isn't the 80's you know)

secondly, the current gen can already do proper realtime multitasking, on the PS3 you can spread 14 threads (6 vector processors, and each one can handle 2 threads at once + the PPU) and on the 360 6 ( 3 cores, 2 threads / core).

4817d ago 11 agree5 disagreeView comment

quite disappointing imo:

in 2006 the ps3 and 360 were really high end machines

the PS3 with the geforce 7900 and a CPU that could handle 16 threads at once. And the 360 with a cpu consisting out of 3 3.2 ghz cores (while 90% of pc onwers at that time only had single core CPU's)

Oblvion ran flawlessy on these consoles while many pc owners had to install old-oblivion

but these new consoles will only be a bit better than bu...

The greatest danger for such types of fraud is still the PC. people store passwords and cardinfo on it. when they want to sell their PC they just format their drive thinking their files are getting deleted that way.

But only the filetable (the link + dirs of all files) gets deleted, the files are still on the HDD. Criminals buy second -hand pc and recover the sensitive files.

My protip is to use DBAN to clean your HDD before selling your PC .

...

4823d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

yet this would never be possible on a PS3 console, EVEN if it would store credit card info locally.

The PS3 harddrive is encrypted, when you send your ps3 in its filetable gets formatted, a process which also deletes the key and a new key gets generated.

The trick of calculating the key by comparing the the state of the HDD before and after adding a file also won't work with refurbished consoles because it would use the new key now and not the old key(whi...

The PS3/360 are capable of rendering these games in 1080p@60fps , but the corporate suits at bluepoint or konami decided that they could make more money with these games in just 720p.

The reason behind this is that it would have taken much more money to develop these games. While average joe,not enthusiasts like you, don't see the difference between 720 and 1080. Hell, many people just connect their console with the standard cables, not HDMI cables. That's why they di...
