Honestly, before anyone else comes here to comment on the iPad/console debate, I'd suggest you read the actual article. That's not what I was discussing, at all. I simply asked: what makes the new systems next-gen to you, and why are you buying into them?

Bigpappy. I've got everything under the sun in my entertainment center, from a Wii U to a PS3 to a Sharp Twin Famicom, and everything in between. I'm going to go out on a limb here and state that I'm probably a more dedicated gamer than 90% of this site's readers. But you're missing the point, like so many other commenters. I'm not arguing the iPad versus PS4/Xbox One - I'm arguing for buying the platform that has games you want to play.

I'm glad you're ready for the next generation of consoles, but I think you're going to find they're not ready for you, yet. Just like the Wii U, they're being rushed out of the gate to capitalize on holiday sales, and it's going to be a long time before there's any good reason to buy one other than it's what Sony or Microsoft want you to do.
