No you don't , maybe watch the anime (FFXV Brotherhood ) or the movie (Kingsglaive :FFXV ) to get in the mood but aside from those you don't need anything at all .
It is a new world with new heroes and new gameplay mechanics .
The current FFXV team (DB2 ) is different from the original FF vsXIII team (the big majority of them at least ) and it took them 4 years to release the current FFXV (articles about it will be appearing this week or the next one ) .
So yeah , they are able to ship a big AAA game in less than 4 years .
What last minutes addition ? He is clearly talking about the post production .
0 previews talked about framerate dips , some of them even pointed out that it was rock solid (even in huge battles) so you shouldn't worry about that for the 1st 15 hours of the game .
The Plat demo wasn't a seamless OW like the actual game so that's why you had load screens .
As for the lighting i personally found it fantastic and it got often praised .
Very few RPG /OW game come close to P.D's lighting from a pure technical ...
That point didn't change , they still worship the death and have skull designs everywhere .
They just said it wasn't as explicit as before .
Hard to say since 2 months of polish are missing and the youtube video is really compressed ( 1.4Gb vs 8.4 Gb for the direct-feed video found here : http://press.na.square-enix... ) .
They aren't making any VR title , FFXV VR experience is something experimental made by their R&D team .
It is the job of the R&D team to do things like that .
They said they would try to make a real VR experience once the game is shipped .
This theatrical release is to take like a bonus and as a bonus it is doing way better than they expected .
As long as it does better than what it is realistically supposed to do it can't be called pathetic .
Even if it didn't offer more in the final product (which isn't the case ) i don't understand that mindset , the game can be played in a way more skilled and fun way ( https://www.youtube.com/wat... ) so why not play it that way ?
In DMC you can surly finish the game while using guns non-stop and switching weapon once in a while , but if you use everything at your disposal you can ...
It depends on how many new gamers FF XV is going to bring , i am sure it will be one of the FF with the most new gamers ever made .
I often see people saying " it will be my 1st FF " and sadly it is often because they didn't like TB/ATB gameplay .
What is important is that they were the 1st one to do some of the things you cited .
You should read the original article instead of the +- click-bait header (the title is made in a way that it sounds tragic when it wasn't like that at all ) , Swagaguchi is very optimistic about the game and full of praise for Tabata .
He once said that "easy" mode was an other gameplay mode made to please ATB/TB fans , we shall wait and see .
Well their background is different .
Be sure you missed nothing from the gameplay : https://www.youtube.com/wat... .
Well you should play the demo like that before complaining about its gameplay .
It is like you have missed 90% of the mechanics .
Lucky for you there are women in the party now end then (you even see one in the Uncovered trailer ).
Well he made FF Crisis Core (sad ending ) and FF Type-0 (sad beginning and sad ending ), he knows what he is talking about .
There will be a pool of blood , that's for sure .
"Its crazy that they cant do this after so much time on the making of this game."
What does the time have to do with that ?
Optimisation is always done as the last part of game development since it would be unwise to optimise an unfinished product , it is even more true for FF XV since they keep adding graphical features (for instance Episode Duscae was running under Luminous Engine 1.5 while the Platinium demo is close to the 2.0 version , they ...
It is an expansion so it isn't that bad if well done (they could make a whole new region payable in co-op ) .
