That line stuck out...the author is trying to make it sound big....but I mean talk about overtly chest-thumping for no reason.
Pro-tip: Don't give dumb statistics. 60% (MS FF13) of 63% (PS3 FF13) is 37.8% (total FF13 sales).
Why not just friggin say congrats to MS for taking 40% of gamers who purchased FF13 (Obviously the author isn't happy with just 40% but who cares? Not Microsoft...they took their market share, they're happy!)
Redundance on the intern...
and it was refined a lot better. Uncharted 1 looked great, but it lacked a lot of the details that PS3 exclusives had after it (and 3rd person dual platform games too). Remember that MW2 has had the benefit of a LOT more sony support now too (through their internal 3rd party assistance group whose only goal is to develop software that 3rd party devs can use for making games...forget the name of the group though).
So yeah, I'd agree that MW2 did look better overall than Uncharted ...
Thanking the press just sounds stupid. What was he going to do if it had gotten destroyed in the press?
Insult them?
Who the f*ck cares...
I can't believe this is a factor for people...is that going to be a new feature in games now?
"Doom 5 new features: 3D gaming, virtual interactive interface, realistic shock vibration and...NO RESPAWNING ENEMIES!"
If one of the points that reviewers are critical about are respawning enemies then you know what? You've got a pretty damn solid game if they have to nitpick that bad.
If you have to publicly promote...
Y'all need to take grade 2 mathematics again.
As COUNTLESS people in this thread have already pointed out, it's MATH.
Unless the numerator (top number) is greater than the denominator (bottom number) consistently, than an average will consistently DECREASE.
Out of 21 reviews (360) vs. 40 some odd (PS3), if the reviews are not accounted for, than OF COURSE the score will be averaged down lower.
I have a PS3 and I don't necessarily consider th...
but what's with the Metro 2033 love? Was there some preview vid I missed out on or something? I'm genuinely curious
I've seen some screenshots, and a gameplay trailer recently, but honestly, nothing that was that impressive enough...to make me sit up and take notice...the character designs looked standard post-apocalyptic, the monster designs looked typical hybrid mutant monster thingie and (I thought) the animation wasn't super-ultra fluid *although* the lighting was pretty good...
He used to do the resolution analysis at Beyond3D and I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) he does resolution analysis for Digital Foundry as well.
The only thing that might be in question is the source of the screenshots and what the screenshots were running off of.
But this is more Gamestop fail than anything else
just because both MS and Sony came out and claimed to be able to let gamers play in high definition resolutions all throughout their marketing hype.
And then a lot of gamers consequently went out and splurged on fancy new HD sets that would run anywhere from 480p to 720p to 1080p now. I got a PS3 2.5 years ago and the only game I've played 1080p on is MGS4. And I've only played 360 exclusives 1080i. Both platforms have this problem that there are very, very few games that are run...
present like the sparks bouncing off the gunshots in the wall or near the end when the sparks were all bouncing off the vehicle that the frames really dropped, so I mean if anything, you know that Bungie is doing what they can (in alpha build too) to push their graphics engine to the max...I mean obviously they're going to tweak it and fiddle around so that it stays a pretty consistent 30fps eventually. They're just putting their vision to work and seeing if they can make the tech follow
The most recent trailer wasn't even in the final build yet. They released that trailer a month and a half ago and I guarantee you they had already been putting it together a month and a half before releasing it.
So at best you have a close to final build of a game.
There's also some kind of implied statement that there's nothing "new" about GoW3 which is why, "It just not as exciting as it once was. It just doesn’t spark the interest in anyone other th...
But it has nothing to do with why he dislikes Uncharted 2.
After reading all his tweets his biggest complaint is that it is "more of the same" (to sum it up more or less).
I agree though, Uncharted 2 is most definitely "more of the same" - but this doesn't necessarily make it a bad game.
Final Fantasy (before it went wild in the PSX era) was always of the "more of the same" formula - but I'd argue that FFVI is arguably one o...
in that nobody should be denying that Valve is a talented developer, but a lot of gamers obviously feel a little insulted by Valve's attitude towards the PS3.
Some ppl might be all "holy sh!t Gabe's an asshat!" and what not, but I think most gamers are more confused as to why Valve keeps acting incredibly condescendingly *about* the platform.
It's pretty common knowledge that most developers have found it challenging to work on, but that's old news. Valve ...
They would list Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross here
