I have mixed feelings about keyboard and mouse controls.
On the one hand the aiming is faster and much more precise than aiming with an analogue stick.
On the other hand using WASD keys for movement feels positively archaic to me. With an analogue stick you can move in any direction, not just backwards, forwards, and side to side. Pushing individual keys to move in distinct directions feels cumbersome if you are used to analogue movement.

I am a moderate fan of Castlevania, but I really wasn't expecting much from Castlevania Lords of Shadow. Nevertheless, it has blown me away and is by far one of the best games I have ever played.

I honestly can't understand why some review sites are being so unfair towards this game. It's like they have an axe to grind with it. This game in every single way--from combat, to exploration, platforming, narrative and graphics--is easily a 9+ game. These reviewers giving it 7s are out of their flipping minds.

You can tell this makes certain PS3 fanboys really insecure (I'm talking about the fanboys not regular PS3 owners like myself).

It obviously does. Devs said many times that both consoles have some advantages over the other and that they are both about equal in power. Really all it comes down to is the skill of the devs and the engines they use.

I basically agree with you guys. But I did just want to point out that Gears of War 2 didn't just do better in sales in did better in review scores. Resistance 2 has an 87 on metacritic, while Gears of War 2 has a 93.
But I agree that they are two great franchises on two different consoles, so no need to really pit them against each other.
I buy Halo in large part because of its campaign. It has the best narrative in any FPS, in my opinion. I have always enjoyed the Halo campaigns.

Enslaved does look awesome. Personally I am more excited for Castlevania, but that's where individual taste comes into play. I am really looking forward to Enslaved as well.

I, for one, am really looking forward to Enslaved. I don't know if it will be my favorite game of the year, but I am almost certain that I will really enjoy it. And you never know, it might be my GOTY too.

I've actually talked about this with a friend before. We both like aiming with the mouse, but we don't like moving with the WASD keys, so we thought having a mouse in the right hand and an analogue stick (with other buttons) in the left hand would be the ideal setup.
