Good call-out on Machine Games and id. They could definitely bring the impactful gunplay. But I'd want to see it slowed down a bit. I can't imagine Punisher running around at the speed of Doomguy. BJ is closer to the pace I envision.
They said the same thing about entry/exit animations for vehicles. And then they added those in BF1.
FINALLY. Someone who fondly remembers Outbreak. I would absolutely love a remake of that co-op game in the RE Engine. Co-op horror games are in short supply and rarely done well these days (ex: Dead Space 3 wasn't as oppressive and claustrophobic as its beginnings). That leaves traveling back in time to games like Obscure for something that mostly fits the bill. Dealing with outdated graphics/controls can only satisfy so much.
Absolutely. Bethesda isn't holding themselves to what Interplay setup in some regards. On the one hand, I understand that they want to mold the franchise to fit their experimental needs. On the other, I can see why people would be upset by them altering the established lore of an IP they took over.
The constant flow of Skyrim re-releases wasn't playing it safe?
And so ends the long-standing acronym battle between God of War and Gears of War.
Hopefully not since it's a new engine
The producer stated that there were no current plans to include loot boxes. HOWEVER, there will be cosmetic-only microtransactions. You will know what you are paying for before buying. No randomized "safes" holding weapon skins like in Payday 2.
The Twitter responses from @RAGEgame, @Bethesda, and @DCDeacon (Pete Hines) seem to point to it being real.
Ubisoft said the update doesn't hit Xbox One or PS4 until Monday. How are you playing the game with it?
Any growth past 2 million may be substantially slower/smaller. They got their initial hype pre-orders and purchases in. But the middling reviews and community outcry aren't likely to drive 2 million extra sales in the game's current condition. They next notable wave of players will likely come when they add a huge amount of content or overhaul the gameplay loop.
Possibly. It really depends on the community as much as meaningful content updates. I once thought Absolver would provide long-time entertainment. Sadly, a small map, lacking updates, and a diminishing community killed it off before it could achieve its true potential. That is what I fear for Sea of Thieves.
Crashing reported? I'd hope so. That's one of the main gameplay mechanics.
While I am more partial to PC gaming, the rise in component prices (GPUs due to miners, RAM due to shortages) hasn't exactly made it the most financially viable option right now. Despite that platform being my primary choice, I can take off the "PCMR" goggles long enough to admit that it isn't always going to beat out the competition depending on the market.
In the end, many self-proclaimed PC Master Race people aren't any better than the "peasant...
Out in just over a month? I want to believe
You and me both
Then how would they sell the $300 Switch if you could just buy a sub-$200 Android device and an $8/month subscription?
That would be preferable
Very interesting. I don't mind the outdated mechanics or presentation really. I imagine that won't bother me much. Over the past couple years, I have gone back and invested 40+ in both the first Witcher and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2. It's easy to overlook the lacking modern bells and whistles when you're presented with a great game, which Outcast sounds like by your account.
As for the devs reaching out to you, that must be really awesome to h...
Seems fair since it looked like they spent less than they were budgeted to create the base game
