That's actually slightly concerning to hear. I hope Switch 2 doesn't quickly fall technically behind like the Switch 1 did. If you think about it, people complain all the time about Microsoft's requirement that new games support Series S has been holding back games from performing better. I know it's still a "modern console", but we know it can't keep up with Series X and PS5, and it's already almost 5 years old. What is going to happen in 2030 when games are...

We shouldn't accept that answer. If companies continue to behave in this anti-consumer manner, there will be a point where hackers can't bypass the safeguards and there will be NO preservation. Companies need to end the practice.

You know why this is the first "video game exclusive" concept car? Because that's a Hot Wheels car, not a real one. That just wouldn't work in a real-life, full-sized car. I saw the image before the content and I was like "that's a cool Hot Wheels" for a reason.

I doubt even October will happen TBH. My preorder from December used to say "After Q2 2022" and now says "After Q3 2022". No way anything ordered now stays at after Q3.

Difference between the US and Russia is that the US has fair elections and Putin kills his opposition when they begin to threaten him. He was constitutionally limited to two terms, so he installed an allied figurehead as President while serving as "prime minister" (effectively still running the country for 4 years) and then became President again, and then CHANGED THE LAW so he could stay President even longer. And Russian citizens allowed it all to happen. So yeah, "no bette...

@specialguest The problem is Putin and the rest of the Russian wealthy don't care about the Russian people. The wealth gap is a billion times worse in Russia than it is in the US, and whatever happens to the Russian people really doesn't affect the oligarchs. They are still making their billions and will be fine. So they lose a yacht or two? Big deal to them. Once all this is over they can buy another three. So these sanctions don't really matter to anyone but the innocent civi...

The expansion may not be the greatest deal ever, but it's fine for those of us that like it. For those of us that already felt it was worth buying it, the 48 tracks ARE free, and I'm happy to get them. Sure, they aren't 48 MK8 Deluxe quality, but they're 48 more tracks to race on, so I'm glad I didn't have to to buy anything else.

OK, as soon as all the other console exclusives make their way cross-platform. Console exclusives are stupid, but good luck convincing Sony, Microsoft, and especially Nintendo of that.

No way I'd support these after the way Sony went after dbrand. Dirty pool, not cool Sony.

Just like the author, my game time is relegated to a few hours here and there when insomnia hits thanks to family and kids, so I play on as easy a difficulty as I can just so I can get through as many games as I can. It's better than missing out on all these great games coming out.

I hope they actually follow through. I understand the desire to push an app store's safety for distribution, but 30% is egregious and publishers know it. 12% is much more reasonable towards developers, who do all the heavy work.

To be fair, if anyone could actually BUY a PS5 or XBox Series console, I think you'd probably see different results. This chip shortage situation is really killing hardware sales for both consoles and graphics cards.

If the game uses lower resolution textures, that's EXACTLY how it would work, my guy.

1557d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

It is EXTREMELY unlikely that the PS5 has nearly twice as good compression as the Xbox Series this early in the console lifecycles. It's much more likely a texture quality issue. If there was a 25% difference, MAX, it could be a compression difference, but there's no way you're getting that big of a difference when both systems essentially use similar hardware, not without years for developers to find the efficiencies.

Yes it did. PS4 Slim is $299 and even the Pro can be gotten for less than the original MSRP for PS4. https://smile.amazon.com/Pl...

It's not missing "a lot of what the other system can do", it's missing dock mode. It's a handheld only console, and many people ONLY play their Switch in handheld mode. For some people it IS a price cut. If it's not for you, that's fine too.

1563d ago 2 agree7 disagreeView comment

Why would they cut the price? They haven't slowed in sales, there is a lower cost model in the Switch Lite, and they may be releasing a more powerful console later in the year. Obviously what they're doing is working right now.

It's always fun when a console that's less than 4 months old is "pushed to its limits" already. I seriously doubt that any game will be doing that yet, no developer gets that intimately familiar with a console's quirks in that short a period of time, there are always efficiencies to be found.

That looks absolutely terrible. Outdated graphics, gameplay looks weak, odd design choices. HARD pass.
