Fanboyism? You mean like praising a VIDEO GAME for having 90 minute scenes that break up the action?
So I pose a question for you....
What if I have owned a PS, PS2 and now a PS3, have played every single MGS game (only disliking the second) and was looking forward to the new one, and still think that 90 minute cutscenes is a terrible idea?
Final Fantasies don't even have cut scenes that long.
Thanks for the advice about not buying the game...I guess I should have said that I've played every MGS game and a big fan of 1 and 3...2 was terrible for a laundry list of reasons, and a big one is the overly long cutscenes...
Sorry, but 90 minutes is ridiculous overkill...Please spare me the "If you don't like it, don't buy it" rhetoric...I'm allowed and within good reason to say that I think it's ridiculous as well as say that anyone who thinks 90 minute cutscenes in...
Wow...I lov the MGS series, and I expected long cut scenes, but "long" cutscenes for a video game is about 15 minutes...90 minutes is incredibly stupid and just killed a bit of my interest in this game...Sorry, but Kojima is just WAY too pretentious.
You will lap up anything...Hell no, I don't want 90 minutes cut scenes...I want to, I dunno, PLAY the friggin' game...Weird I know, but unless I can shut it off and revisit it, it's a waste of time...
So you've played both? Can I borrow your time machine?
Uhm....Ok, please enlighten us as to what console game looks bettter.
COD4 is, unquestionably, the best shooter on the console market right now...I'll check out the next COD (I refuse to call it 5 because I doubt it will be) for 2 reasons...1-Treyarch has been working on this for 2 years, and 2- it uses the COD4 graphics engine...
How many more bad reviews does this game have to get before PS3 fans give up and say "At least we have Metal Gear"?
Uncharted, Resistance, and Ratchet and Clank are all good/great games...
But yeah, I've barely played my PS3.
GTA got a 10 in graphics because for a game that has so much going on, it's damned impressive...The Euphoria engine is impressive, the lighting, the detail on the buildings...Take up a helicopter and you can see every single part of Liberty City...AND they all look great...That's reason enough.
Then you have the fact that it's a different reviewer for each game and subjectivity comes into play, it's very easy to see how one got a 10 and Haze got a 4.5.
ANYWAY, yep, ...
I prefer SC to MGS...Why? Because I couldn't care less about the mumbo jumbo story that MG has devolved into...Plus, as a stealth series, Splinter Cell was much more stealth like...
That's not to say I don't like MGS a lot, I do...But I prefer the quasi-realism of SC to the nonsense of Vampires and spider-men and fat men on roller blades of MGS...
I sincerely hope this rumor is true (I read the same thing a while ago in EGM) because I wasn't liking where Conviction w...
At least he didn't complain about the driving...
A little history...
I have been gaming since the 2600...I owned a 2600, an NES, SNES, Playstaion 1 and 2, an XBOX and now own a 360 and a PS3...I play my 360 more for 3 reasons...1 -more games 2-Better online support, and 3-Achievements (I don't need them all, but it's a great option to have and if anyone says differently, just wait till Sony gets their act together and impliments a similar system)...
Now, that being said, I'm looking forward to a lot of games but if...
Hm...So I guess you don't play shooters? Or are you a wanna be soldier?
Someone asked them if the content could come out on PS3, and he said that it can't...Friggin' attention whore...
Did you seriously just type that and hit the "add reply" button?
So I'm guessing you've never played a previous GTA? Because if you did, you would know they're all structured the same way...And if you did, why would you play it again? And if you did play it again, then you're an idiot...I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt here...So, I'm guessing you've never played a previous GTA?
Let's lay off the use of all inclusive terms like "no one" and "everyone" k?
I play GTA for the missions first and foremost...And I know that most, if not all of my friends have been playing the story.
"The only people that care about DLC are current 360 owners"...Really? Wow...So who should care about it? If all I owned was a PS3 (fortunately I own both) then I'd say I didn't care too...
"People will always see this as a Playstation game"? Really? Because when I look at my 360 it has GTA IV in it, I'm pretty sure I see it as a 360 game...Maybe that's just me, but I doubt the 3 million plus people that own it for 360 see it as a PS3 game either...I could be ...
This demo sold me on saving $60...
Really? So you're telling me that the Soccer Mom that bought the Wii FOR games like Carnival Games is also willing to play a Final Fantasy game or Metal Gear?
Hardcore gamers are the ones that are going to play games like Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Gears of War, Mario Galaxy, Nobunaga's Ambition, etc...Casual Gamers are the ones that are content with shovel ware like Carnival Games, Big Brain Academy, Game Party...
There is a CLEAR distinction between hardcore game...
I agree that those games are too short...But making a game longer through cutscenes is not a good way to pad the length...Plenty of games last longer than that without cutscenes that last longer than, MAYBE, 10 minutes...
Like I said, Final Fantasy doesn't even scenes that long...30 minutes is pushing it...90? That is beyond ridiculous.
I'm a hardcore gamer and a movie buff, btw.
I'm fairly certain casual gamers don't read N4G.
