I played through the demo when that went up on XBL and wasn't a big fan of the change to the kick mechanic. That said, not a lot else felt new initially. Nice to see that the Madden elite can find something to love in this sports juggernaut, though :D
I still feel the price cut was directly related to the Vita's price announcement. I don't think ANYONE expected that thing to be $250, not even Nintendo. I know a lot of people worry that cell phone gaming has replaced the handheld market, and I'm sure it's put a dent in it, but I'm still not entirely convinced they can't coexist.
I'm not too worried about single player games going away, but I'm always interested when multiplayer aspects creep in. I think Demon's Souls was a great game to mention because it's a fun single player experience that I felt was improved by having the community aspect of the messages. I can see a portal and judge that what's beyond it is probably dangerous, but when there's a message proclaiming "The true Demon's Souls starts here!" I can't help but...
I completely agree, and it does come down to poor game design. Closing doors behind the player is never good, especially if it comes so close to a potentially interesting piece of content.
Oh man, storage is such a key thing. I've got boxes and guitars laying all over the place, I could totally use one of those. That BlitzBox capture device looks awesome too... might need to look into that.
Burger Time is one of those games I missed while growing up. Even nowadays the idea of it seems totally crazy and difficult, haha.
I'm digging the UI in this game. That's probably something no one really cares about but for some reason I can get way into a good UI.
Man I feel so left behind without an Android/iPhone. My love of cats makes Milk and Coffee seem almost unfairly awesome to me.
A Jecht game would've been a really great way to fill in the mythos of FFX. So much so that it's almost a shame that X-2 wasn't focused on filling in Jecht's story as opposed to furthering the Yuna/Tidus story.
I'm actually somewhat interest in this game, but that title just does nothing for me. Hopefully the game itself will convince me that the title isn't representative of the game's quality.
I heard so many good things about the original Toy Soldiers, and I'm glad that this one delivers as well. Just another great Summer of Arcade release!
This is probably the brightest time for the Sonic Franchise since the 2D days. Glad to see that Sega has, hopefully, turned the series around for the foreseeable future.
I'm generally much more positive on motion gaming than most people, but I do think there's always going to be a place for controller-based gaming. It may wind up going in two totally different directions at some point, with fans of motion gaming getting X game and fans of controller gaming getting Y game( and fans of both being SUPER stoked ). I have a hard time seeing motion controls being the only future of gaming, though.
Fantasy leagues would be super awesome for eSports. I definitely agree that Pro Sports could take a page out of the civility book. I have to wonder if that's a phenomenon of being a smaller market, though.
I'll be interested to see if this CS formula can transfer to modern day consoles. It has always felt too precise and high-stakes to make sense on consoles.
I'm feeling a lot of shooter fatigue as of late, but I have to admit that if anything could get me excited for a shooter it's BF3.
A new Battletoads would be so awesome. There's a buncha Rare franchises that Microsoft really hasn't jumped on... a bit disappointing.
Ultimately, license games like this really only need to appeal to the people who know the license. Good to hear Soul Resurreccion is a great game for fans!
Mario Kart becomes infinitely more fun when more people are added to the mix, even moreso when they're close to you. Great list and great games!
The franchise stuff in sports games has really taken me by surprise recently. It's a bit tough to get into, but once you do it unlocks what feels like a totally new game. Glad to see Madden 12 furthers their franchise mode!
