I just can't get behind digital, literally everything about it outside of not having to swap a disc is more limiting with digital. Can't sell it, can't trade it, can't loan it, it's more expensive on console, the game become unavailable on console if the store/servers are shut down and after that if you get a corrupted HDD your stuff is gone, there's so little we know about how digital will be handled on the last gen consoles once those store are done, it's just a ...
Um, those digital games are no where near forever. How long will the 360 and PS3 store servers be up? Another 5, maybe even 10 years tops. Let's say 5, probably go down around when the next gen starts getting hyped. Your HDD fails and you're done, your retro library is over.
Before the store goes down, do you have enough space on that HDD for all your stuff? What stays and what goes? Maybe you find an old PS3 game you want to play... on disc of course since the store...
Either that statement didn't come out the way you intended or that's funny, not sure which... :D
That's funny, lots of the kids at my sons elementary school play COD, Assassins Creed, Halo and other 'mature' games. Nintendo makes games for everyone, whether you're a kid or a 30 something.
Study also finds 1 in every 5 people are stuck with Destiny forever, with no way of selling it or getting a refund.
1 in 5 people also believe Obama is literally the Anti Christ.
To be fair, 1 in 5 people know where Turkey is on a map, and that might be a generous number...
Splatoon and Xenoblade, Pikmin is only on its third entry, Nintendo Land, Star Fox has less entries than COD or Assassins Creed. They're bringing out new stuff and putting entries into some of their less used franchises, so I feel they're doing OK on that front. Also, with them throwing money into stuff like Bayo 2 and Devils Third it shows they're willing to take risks on different franchises as well.
I haven't been impressed yet, if they can change that then great but I have little faith in Cage to do so.
Honestly I was surprised how much Bayo got marketed by Nintendo. They had a commercial running, they had YouTube ads they had magazine ads, the Nintendo site, the WiiU eShop, a Demo and a Direct. Unfortunately, even a multi million dollar ad campaign could only sell so much, and this is a niche genre from a niche company on a niche platform. It will hit a million sales, but it's going to take time, games like this have legs as long as Bayos ;)
Great advice all around.
120 fps indie games would be EVERYWHERE :P
While the situation between last gen and this one is definitely different the trend is still worrying, when graphs start resembling going down a mountain there's something to be concerned about.
With MS and Nintendo both failing with their early launches, along with the return of more mainstream PC gaming, these numbers make sense. Handhelds have suffered from smartphones and poor Vita sales. Still, these are not the trends you want to see after such a huge rush out of the gate af...
One game doesn't erase shoddy business tactics and lies. If they change how they operate and show they can stick to it, sure, but this is like saying 'DA Inquisition is good, EA is a great company again!' It doesn't work that way.

In all seriousness this could be fairly appealing. I'd like to see the full list of channels though, along with the price past the invite beta and the option to add other channels for a small price increase. Also, I'd like to know what resolution this stuff will be in.
Seems like a good start though, I've been looking for a way to convince my family to drop cable service and this may just help do that.
Can't... Stop... Drooling... :F
Very psyched about this game, I'm a huge Earthbound fan and this looks to take everything I love about it and expand on it.
So many people here just say 'get an external HDD'. Wish people had said that when the WiiU launched...
Oh no, you mean until then it's all for funzies? That doesn't sound awful at all.
I see VR on the horizon for and I can't help but feel that this time, instead of VR killing itself through its price and inaccessibility, that the publishers are going to be the one to kill it this time with bad quality control, micro transactions, broken online experiences and more.
The industry is in a bad state right now, I don't know if it's the right time to be bringing a new piece of tech into the fray that desperately NEEDS to get it right from the beginni...
Oh trust me, I KNOW that all too well. I can still hope for a 7,8,9 trilogy of low to mid budget remasters though.
I bought a copy of Grandia on PSN only to have it disappear from my list of purchased games. I also had the HDD on my PS3 corrupt because of a save bug in Mass Effect 2, and if that were to happen with no PS3 PSN I would be screwed out of anything I had on there. There's just too many variables and unknowns for how digital content is, or if it even will, carry on over time. I like having access to older games and digital, on console at least, doesn't give me any piece of mind that I...
