I'm anticipating Faction to be a large, connected experience, with story elements baked into some Last of Us centered MMO style title.
Maybe not an open world, but hubs, which connect into large areas.

Think TLOU2's open area, many times that size and expanded over time, with persistently changing storylines going on throughout the Factions World.

I can't wait to see what Naughty Dog does when they move away from The Last of Us and Uncharted.
Taking that approach to a story driven science fiction or fantasy setting would be great IMO.

Something wide open, with a series of paths through the story, but a detailed open world game, that takes advantage of PS5 would be fantastic from ND IMO.

I meant to say '"Elder Scroll" and not Elder Wilds. ;)

Of course they are, this game, just like Fallout, Elder Wilds, etc would have been a multiplat until the ZeniMax deal went through. ZeniMax were an owner of a 3rd Party, Multiplatform Publishing House, exactly as Activision-Blizzard are.

Sony, Microsoft or whichever platform holder buying the rights to have exclusivity on one game here and there isn't the same as one of them buying an entire publisher, with control of all of those IPs going to that platform holder.

960X1080 per eye on PSVR1 vs 2000x2040 res per eye on PSVR2, 4X the pixel increase, the headset's lighter, there's no way the experience isn't improved by the display tech in use compared to PSVR1.

Eye tracking, better supporting hardware in PS5 by a massive margin, what is the point of this article?
Every genuine user of the device has praised the imagine quality improvement.

Playing some of the first game it was really quite dull, the recent Teaser of the 2nd game looked really boring, there was nothing exciting about that.

@Jin: You clearly didn't play Death Stranding at all, because it's far from being a walking sim.

@Muigi better performance is better performance.
The only reason PS5 hasn't had the VRR update yet is because Sony are waiting for the new HDMI 2.1 protocol.

That "Weak Show" had amazing gameplay revealed for what is bound to be a huge Game of The Year contender in God of War Ragnarok and also showed us that PS5 is getting an exclusive Wolverine game made by the developer that makes The Best Super Hero games ever made in Insomniac Games.

Plus an awesome confirmation that Spiderman 2 is also a PS5 exclusive and coming in 2023.
The best simulation racing franchise is also getting released next year on PS4 and PS...

I hope the Men In Black rumour is true, the franchise has so much potential for a video game.

MiB is begging for a great game and if they're using UE5 it could look amazing on PS5.

Thermodynamics tells us that you have a set amount of heat in a system, if the processor is the same and all other components are the same then more heat out of the back of a system means less inside.
You can't argue against this, it's physics, anyone saying that more heat out of the back the console doesn't mean lower temperatures inside clearly doesn't have a clue how physics works.

Sony chose to use a bigger fan, plus longer pipes coming directly...

The whole FSR thing was hilarious, considering that you could use it on pre RDNA GPUs, from my understanding if you can run FP16 code then you could technically use FSR.

It's quieter and this new design also moves more heat out of the system, so logically the chip would run cooler, better design without question.

973d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

The copper pipes in this new cooler are actually at least 50% bigger, those parts actually move direct heat from the SoC, there's also a bigger fan, also remember that excess fins can actually serve to insulate the heat above the chip, so a reduction or alteration in the design of the new PS5's Heatsink actually moves more heat from the chip.

This is why more heat is being removed from the inside of the console, hence why there's more heat coming from the exhaus...

The new model removes more heat from the console, the copper pipes on this new model are longer, this means more direct heat is being moved away from the Processor, which is the point of a heatsink.
Too much fin material could actually insulate the heat further within the system, which is why the design was changed, this new model also uses a larger fan.

If the SoC in this model is the same as the launch model, but this new design is moving more heat out of the bac...

The difference between trying to do this on PS3 and PS5 is complexity of per frame data, on PS5 you're not seeing transitions in LOD, you're also getting a level of detail far beyond on PS4, let alone PS3.

SATA ATA allows for something like 150MB/s, PS5 5500MB/s and that isn't taking into consideration the OS streaming in the background, which requires far less of the PS5's SSD to Memory bandwidth pathway.
PS3 would be streaming in less than 5MBs pe...

RDNA2, with AMD/Sony Collaborative additions or replacements to better suite Sony's needs was exactly what Mark Cerny and AMD have been saying from the moment Sony did their hardware deep dive last year.

Someone clearly hasn't played even a single second of this awesome game, even the first few levels/worlds are more than just Ray Tracing (assuming you have the RT mode turned on), the overall gameplay is on a very high level and the whole package I've experienced so far is nothing but amazing in quality.

The game is filled with heart and soul from what I've experienced of it so far and I want to savour that.

Sony were the ones carrying E3, for years they were the publisher to keep your eyes on because you knew they would be the ones to beat, but now that they're doing their own thing E3 is basically not worth watching, just check individual videos for the odd thing worth a watch.

Sony's big summer event is what most gamers are looking forward to, to find out when Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok and Sony's surprises are coming.
Nintendo are anoth...
