Author here, could not agree with you more.
FAI is a satire site, so while the article pretends to be written by a SJW, it's actually (hopefully) lambasting the notion that gaming ISNT generally a guys thing where plenty of games can and should cater exclusively to that demographic.
I will donate to the kickstarter (isn't that how all ideas happen these days?)
Why is "The Onion" included in Google News?
In any medium, satire and news go together. Usually because there's a point to the satire that makes you think about the news in general.
This article has literally NOTHING to do with the order.
No, the article is saying that gamers hate everything because their media pushes hatred and sarcasm on them on a daily basis.
We are trained to throw out sarcastic tweets and comments about every single announcement, release and trailer we ever see.
I agree, but I also think that the Journos don't help. These days it's all about being snarky and putting everything down, just so you can prove how cool you are for being unimpressed.
Imagine MS named their new console the "Super Xbox" can you imagine the mockery? That never happened back in the day with the Super Nintendo, because people weren't so determined to hate everything and mock everything just to prove how cool they are.
Genuinely interested in your opinion, @kurruptor - do you think that there is no place for satire in games journalism? Sometimes I get that impression - even when an article is funny there's a large number of people who seem to be unable to take gaming as anything but serious, and will get offended for perceived 'bashing'.
Again - I'm genuinely interested in your thoughts...

Common whatnow??? I want to sue someone!!!
If a tree falls on me in some virtual woods, does it really make a sound? And if so who do I sue?
I agree with you, though, there will be some sill law suits over oculus at some point. It's just the world we live in.
Yeah must be the lag. I imagine it's incredibly frustrating knowing how good you are at the game only to die because of internet connection.
Satire
That's saitre. Picks an issue and trolls both sides of the argument.
How will we survive without gamerscore? There's no exchange rate between consoles...
The problem is, Nintendo are immune from criticism.
We can mock Sony/Microsoft for bringing out sequel after sequel just fine. But imagine that Microsoft's gaming lineup was only: Halo 5, Halo Karting, Halo 2 HD remake, Gears 2 HD remake, a Halo brawler mini-game. This and no third party decent games. People would think they had gone mad.
Yet Nintendo do that EXACT thing but somehow they're cool??
The article is pretty much true - the quotes in that article are real and taken from the linked MCVUK piece. Fully 'Avin It just going farther than MCVUK in pointing out how stupid the idea is.
Or you could score based on how promptly the review copy is sent to you.
"Isn't a game" - it is if you make rules and keep score.
Do you not think it's amusing to explore who would be upset by the changes everyone praises SE over?
