Hopefully he will try stealing from someone much bigger and badder than him without a cop around to stop him from getting pummeled.
The problem is not what 9 out of 10 of you fools think. The few of you who went ahead and tested this out themselves know that you can swap your drives back and forth just fine, and some of us know that windows isn't going to just torch a hard drive if it can't see what's on it. So it's obvious he zapped his drive physically during the swap... Pretty much just bad timing or trolling for internet attention.
I have the old original 60GB that came with the system that I haven't used...
Even if the games are good, it doesn't mean the tech for the memory architecture was what paid off. The other designing elements, or perhaps better talent could be what makes the games good.
You do realize this wasn't a PS3 vs 360 thread right? The tech info was just that, info about what's in your system. If you don't care about the tech, then why are you even posting on the topic?
Many parts of the PS3 contribute to it's performance, but this tech news focuses on the RAM aspect. Rambus makes some interesting ram, but they have always had issues with getting it to be used wide scale in the PC world. Supposedly they also have had a hand in the memory technologies in use today, or at least they have sued companies over supposed IP violations. From watching how they have presented their cases and evidence against them I believe they are not trustworthy.

You guys should check out how to mod the PS3 (no permanent changes) to let you use an external hard drive. If you use an external you can get much bigger drives for the same cost with even faster responses and bigger cache. As a bonus side effect of using an external drive you can reduce the heat in the PS3.
Actually I think the tobacco companies already had to donate massive amounts of cash towards don't smoke campaigns, and I think they may have promoted a few of those themselves... though I'm kinda vague on it. Regardless since the tobacco company worked towards creating the problem while suppressing the truth they already knew for certain, then they could be sued.
On the topic of taxes there may be SOME taxes that are unfair, your best example was McDee vs The King.
I can't believe the comments about the mass murdering. Technically to murder someone you can't be justified or that would be justifiable homicide. Considering that he was stuck on the Island with them shooting at him, or he was trying to rescue someone you could argue justification. Regardless, this is a pop-action game that doesn't need to be dark and emo in respect to some undefined realism factor. There are some decent points about repetitious shoot-outs and the want for a few more puzzles...
A couple of months back I got an external SATA plugin for the PS3. Someone basically made a replacement frame for the internal HD, and routed the SATA plug from inside to a modified cover so that you can plug in a SATA cable from outside the PS3. I got that and plugged in my external HDD case with eSATA for a whopping 400GB. Shortly after, all the HDD prices dropped :(.
Anyway, using an external eSATA/SATA drive is convenient. You can swap them out easier, use a 3.5" drive...
No, no, and... no.
The point many seem to want to make, but come about it in a round about manner, is that weapons make it easier to kill people. Funny though, I keep seeing all kinds of comments that blame the gun makers, the games, the full moon, whatever. In the end you nor anyone else knows if they would have strangled, stabbed, or bludgeoned each other to death.
Only in your head
Made up in your head.
It's funny anyone mentions issues with sales for Uncharted, I went to pick it up and I only found one on the shelf... hidden sideways with some other misc. titles out of order. I had checked on it's availability at another store and I couldn't find it on the shelf, though they said they were selling it... weird.
I don't normally do the conspiracy thing (M$ payoff crap, and others), but it was weird to previously see posters of it in the stores and then not find it on the shelf....

The demo does not do the full game justice. I know you are thinking, well what game does, but seriously I just got the game and I was just saying "WOW". My GF was like, yeah, yeah so you got another game, what's so (it starts up) niii... "WOW". I'm trying to pace myself so I enjoy it fully.
If you had looked around then you would find many LCDs with 4-6ms, but of course quoting 8-10ms probably sounds better to you.
Now from those specs I saw 1080p @ 24fps.... which doesn't sound right for a gamers TV. With the current crop we need 1080p @ 60-120fps.
The vegetation looks too good to be in game. Perhaps during the final years of the current consoles we will see better landscapes, but probably not.
Now maybe my hard work will stick around. It takes forever to connect to any of the games, I sometimes leave it trying to connect while I read a book.
@11.1 - The SPU get 256kb of local store, not 128MB which would actually be great (and horrendously expensive).
More memory all around is needed along with an extra dual core processor or two. Perhaps if they switched from SRAM on the SPU to a high speed high capacity embedded dram (not as fast, but faster than most) they could get more out of them.
I think the basic architecture is just fine, they just need to increase what's there and refine it with the new pro...
The first version looks just fine to me. This preview is just meant to show what's going on so far... so why are people grumbling about something they are not even buying yet? It's not like somebody took your money and gave you this unfinished game. Moan and groan about something that really affects you.
If you are all about graphics then go buy a PC with the highest end of everything.
