If they really want to prevent scalping, all they have to do is prohibit pre-ordering altogether, and limit one console per person at retail. That would make it near-impossible for scalpers to acquire consoles in bulk.
Did you know that you don’t like playing games on a tiny screen before you got a Steam Deck, or did you learn that after getting the Steam Deck? If it’s the former, then why did you get a Steam Deck? And if it’s just collecting dust, why haven’t you sold or traded it?
I agree that would be greedy, but it’s possible Furukawa is lying about no price drop for Switch 1. If people knew a price drop was coming this far in advance, that would drastically reduce sales of Switch 1 as people would just wait for the price drop instead of buying now at the current prices.
Finally. Onimusha 2 makes the first game feel like a tech demo by comparison.
I’m betting on $350.
I hope this means we’ll also get HD ports of the sequels. We only got the first game, but that feels like a tech demo compared to the sequels.
They wouldn’t necessarily have to. They could just continue manufacturing and selling the Switch at a discounted price after the next console releases, and within a couple years it should outsell PS2.
It’s one of the best platformers ever made, and it has one of gaming’s finest soundtracks.
Hopefully these get released on Switch and Playstation, along with Age of Empires. There’s a severe lack of good RTS games on both those platforms.
You certainly live up to your name.
That’s cute that you think that.
Also, they released the Horizon FW Burning Shores DLC around the same time as Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
You sound like a bot. I don’t see the point of comparing a 200 dollar portable streaming device to a 500 dollar gaming console, especially considering this article isn’t Xbox related.
Also, the so-called success of the Portal is greatly exaggerated. From the numbers I’ve seen, the Portal has only sold around a million units worldwide, if even that. That’s not a great number. That means around 59 million PS5 owners worldwide said no thanks to this borderline useless device.
I...
Is there a point to this comparison?
I’m guessing a fair portion of that was the money they spent purchasing the studio that developed the game.
@crimsonidle
I didn’t mean that Switch has been ignored in terms of sales. That’s obviously not the case. I just meant that whenever I see arguments or discussions going on about console gaming, people are often hyper-focused on Sony and Microsoft, but Nintendo is often times left out of the conversation as if they’re not a factor or that they don’t really count.
@jznrpg
Not really. Nintendo’s output has been consistently strong every year since its release. Although some of their games are priced too high, specifically the ports and remasters.
Only if you ignore Nintendo, which a lot of people seem to do for some reason. The Switch has had a lot of great games throughout its lifecycle.
That dude was an obnoxious Sony shill.
It would be nice if they announced a release date.
