But really, what's the difference between an MMO and COD multiplayer? They both offer you endless amounts of replayability, and it's that replayability that you get charged for. Also, if games get subscription fees, then developers can afford to push out "tons of content updates." In that way, it's kind of a win-win.
Of course, whether or not it's worth it depends on the actual price.
Yeah, I wonder how many people will feel the same. It could really backfire if many do... but I don't think it will. Of course, a lot of this depends on the exact pricing scheme.
Thanks, I'll fix it :)
Lol, I didn't even know you could do that. My bad. Thanks.
Alright, question for you guys: is the video not embedded for you? When I visit the site (I run it, by the way), the video shows up as embedded for me, but I'm getting reports about the video not being embedded.
Thanks for any help, and sorry for the slight off-topic.
I think that's because older games no longer pass the 'crap threshold.' 10 year old games might have looked great 10 years ago, but they look abysmal today compared to everything else, and that distracts us.
A better way to look at it is: do you enjoy playing games with mediocre graphics by MODERN standards?
I actually did fix the things you guys mentioned, but it didn't update on the site due to a caching thing. Sorry about that.
Lmao... shoulda thought of that one =P
Posting in support of sad kitten.
It's up for preorder at $150 at retailers in the US. It's apparently more expensive in the UK, more like $195 (after converting prices).
Of course, Microsoft can change the price if it wants, but the current preorder price is at the very least a good ballpark estimate.
Lol... yeah... I realized this after I posted it. Tunnel vision FTW. My bad.
"Bioshock, a game set in the 50's under the sea.....seriously, ground breaking stuff, I swear a load or two would have been blown at that board meeting when that setting was decided...Exec 1: " and what do you plan to call this place?"
Developer 1: "Rapture" * the rest of the people who had not blown their loads proceeded to do so*"
LOL... I actually chuckled out loud at that =P
I put Bioshock as historical because it takes place in the mid-20th century and most of its fantasy-like elements are explained by genetic modification. But yeah, WWII-type games probably fit the historical mold better.
Agreed. WoW is great and all, but I think people look at its success and falsely assume that every successful MMO must look just like WoW. It's a bad assumption, and I think it's causing the MMO genre to stagnate.
Lol... the article has nothing to do with consoles. It doesn't even mention them. Why are you bringing them up?
Yeah, I think so... which means Xbox players would get shafted by this =P
