Some games in the future may not be quite like they are today they will be interactive experiences where the point of it is not the challenge so much but the experience and how it makes you feel when your in that world.
If your immersed in the story of a game and then suddenly your chucked into a boss fight it can sometimes take numerous frustrating attempts of trying to get passed it, at that point the immersion of the story and atmosphere breaks and your just trying to get past this annoying obstacle blocking your path of continuing through the story.
If games want to become more 'film like' they need to look at finding a way of addressing that.
