The fact alone that your reviewer didn't know that the "doppleganger" could be powered up and used as a special attack that's highly effective towards crowd control tells me that he didn't even delve into the weapon/ability leveling system and tried to play through the game using basic three hit combos and the magic add-on's most basic level 1 attacks, so it's no wonder that he thought the easiest God of War in the series was too difficult and rage quit repeatedl...
Uh, the 2 second clip was in the dark, at a fixed camera angle, at 30 fps, with no background rendering. This clip isn't gameplay, its from a real-time cutscene.
Exposed to what? This doesn't look any better than the real time QTEs from God of War III 3 years ago. Hell it doesn't look that much better than the dragon vs dragon realtime QTEs from Lair 6 years ago, and that game was a piece of shit.
The stuff he downplayed the game for is all in the Infamous series, which he adores: Large open world that's not freely available as the game starts, and opens up over time: Having to travel to missions and start them... why are those reasons to downplay the score on this game but weren't reasons to downplay Infamous (and Sly Copper 2 and 3 for that matter?)

This is redundant, seeing as how this is already exactly what Sony does every year. They skip over the holidays and release all their biggest new stuff in the 1st quarter of the following year. Uncharted 2, 3, and the LittleBigPlanet series have pretty much been the only exceptions to this over the past several years.
