Eonjay, I respect my rights and Im not an ass. I decided to wait till the open Beta because I saw (they clearly posted) that it would be short. Its not about play the pre-order and wanting to cancel, if you are that much on the fence dont pre-order and wait the 3 days till everyone can play. Then we can slowly work to stop the idiotic pre-order culture all together.

All they had to do is wait till Friday at 10am pst and anyone on PS4 and Xbox can play the open beta . People just wanted to play the beta early and yes that is behind the pay wall of pre-orders and that was clearly pointed out.
also if you watch out you can get PSN or Live for under $50. Yesterday there was a deal for live for $35

The issue is that those free games you get through PS+ you can only play if you are subscribed to PS+. Once you choose to not renew PS+ you can not play those games.
So you still own them but you cant actually play them without PS+

Sony does not own the patent for blu-ray, Blu-ray tech is controlled by the Blu-ray Disc Association which includes Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Thomson, LG Electronics, Hitachi, Sharp, and Samsung.
MS can just will just end up going through one of the other companies. But yes they will have to pay a licensing fee to the Association which Sony is a part of.
