They also put way too much stock on what meta critic says. Whether a good or bad score, the problem with meta critic is way too many on there are just following the herd. They don’t want to be one outlet that gave the opposite review from everyone else.
This debuted as the 27th most played game on Xbox from what I read. With numbers like that I’m guessing this is going to be on PS5 within a year.
I hear you but to be frank, they can’t compete on that level. They’re see as the kiddy console for better or worse. And that means they have to cost it out significantly cheaper than the competition and that leads to a console that isn’t as powerful.
Their gimmicks work for them. And let’s not forget, one man’s gimmick is another man’s innovation.

I think it was always their plan to keep pumping out assassins creed games until interest started to erode and they saturated the market with enough titles then release a Japanese setting to reinvigorate interest since it’s what everyone wanted.
Don’t know if it’ll work. Can’t say I’m a fan of trying to manipulate consumers so blatantly.
After watchdogs, I’ve been overly cautious of hyping myself up for how a game looks until I get it in my hands.

If we’re counting PC ports, I can’t really get behind that logic as I still think PC and consoles are separate enough that the people who are deciding between console and PC for gaming are small in number when compared to gamers that game on console or game on PC exclusively.
By that I mean, releasing all xbox exclusives on PC won’t hurt Xbox console sales nearly as much as releasing them all on PlayStat...
