You may not see graphical power house games but you could probably optimize the engines of games that came out last year to use 15% less of the processor. I don't mean re-releasing games that came out last year, i just mean the games could look as good/ or be as complex as those games.
If a wii game could have the world record for most F bombs dropped in a game (see House of the Dead:Overkill ) than I'm sure we could expect at least a couple hardcore Kinect games to drop next year. Unless it bombs and Microsoft drops it like it did the Kin.
They were probably talking about APB, no way Real Time Worlds and Ruffian (a subsidiary of RTW) are both working on open urban city, multiplayer only games. They would compete with each other. Unless this is DLC for a two year old game and/or a stand alone XBL expansion, to wet peoples appetites while they work on a proper sequel. That would be cool but unlikely. we'll see how this turns out.
Those kids were using an adapter to Play PC games with their otherwise useless PS 2 controllers, it demonstrates the versatility of Vista and it encourages recycling. yeah .... that's it.
360 w/ 60gig HDD w/ 2 games & HDMI cable: $299
PS3 w/ 80gig HDD w/ 0 games & Composite cable: $399
oh yeah Blue ray, but you don't need Blue ray to play High Def Games or Movies (you can stream or download them for far cheaper).
This story is dumb because the 77 includes the 35 released last year. so really there was 20% increase in quality of games when he/she wrote that not a 220% increase. the worst part is that it didn't need to blow up the numbers to make sony look good.
According to Metacritic (sorry but gamerankings was way to clunky to get the data from) the number of PS3 titles with 80 or higher is now 84. 7 are from '06 32 from '07 and 45 from '08(so far) or about a 40% increase in quality titles wi...
I was worried that it was 3-4 hours. I think for me this game will have plenty of replay value in time trials. though i'm hoping that the levels aren't as linear as the demo (there was a alternate roof you could jump to instead of static lining it but you got insta-killed you once you landed) and i never thought that the jumps in the demo were too hard to make on the first try. unless they made the demo way more forgiving then the final copy (which is entirely possible).
If you fallow the link to to original article in the washington post then wade through their own "conclusions" to actual quotes from the people who conducted the study you find this:
""A healthy, normal, nonviolent child or adolescent who has no other risk factors for high aggression or violence is not going to become a school shooter simply because they play five hours or 10 hours a week of these violent video games," he said.

They tell you that downloading videos requires a Hard Drive... which implys that the hard drive is sold separately for at least one version of the console (they wouldn't need to say it otherwise) then they say STARTING at 129GBP (or w/e it is in your neck of the woods) which also implys multiple SKU's and that being the cheapest one, so if you can add two and two togeher you should be smart enough to figure out that you're not going to be downloading movies to the cheapest 360.
instead of what it should be about, IGN's credibility. It's one thing to add a note post mortem that the Bugs may have been due to early code, but to completely remove text is BS.
And i can't blame em... watching two lezbo's goin at it and he's just supposed to sit idly by and not interact? i don't think so!
That was the corniest review i've ever heard, game looks sweet and brings back a lot of memories.
I enjoy the 3 hour podcasts on a weekly bases, it's a shame that the two best personalities have left within a week of each other but if i got offered a chance to make games i would drop just talking about them in a heartbeat. I don't think 1up is going down, it's probably the one thing keeping Ziff Davis alive.
My two year old makes me play this game all the time i've logged in over 70 hours, have completed every challenge and found every Jump, Billboard and gate to smash, and i thank Odin that this pack is coming out next week because otherwise i would batshit crazy
Blackthorne FTW, though it might have lost it's effect in the 15 years since i played it, I have very found memories of reaching back with my boomstick and turning some sneaky bastard into a bloody pile on the floor.
Frickin Hilarious, though i should look out for agents trying to end my existence because i have defended the death sequence, and i will again. I still think it shouldn't be skipable otherwise why even bother avoiding death and it's better then restarting from a checkpoint(or worse the last time you remembered to save) and losing the loot you picked up AND having to fight the same enemys that just killed you only there back at full health. But i guess that's just me.
I also defen...
Yeah PS3 needs a price drop, but Xbox needs to put Multiplayer on the Silver memberships (ie make MP free), drop the price of the 120GB hard drive and get an add-on Blue Ray player in '09. Because a) Sony will(well at least they have too) drop the price in 09, Blue Ray movies will be cheaper and more attractive to the average consumer, And by then Sony should have matched XBL's current features.
This year will be great for both consoles, but seeing as 360 is getting Left for Dead, Gears 2 & Fable 2 by Christmas. I think that's enough to hold off the PS3 from taking the 08 title... sure we don't have a MGS 4 quality release, but Gears will beat it in sales. Banjo Kazooie may not match(or come close to) Little Big Planet, but it'll scratch that itch, at a budget price too... coupled with the system price drops i think 360 will edge out PS3 this year. Though if sony pulls through on...
the game gave a shoutout to Bill Gates for holding it down... nice.
LOL may be, but you kind of missed the point he was making about it creating an alternative distribution system. The real incentive for used game buyers is to buy, install, then sell while the game still has a high value. Or share the game with friends, who could then activate the game by paying the publishers directly, then return it or pass it on without losing the ability to play it. Playing without the disc is what opens up this possibility and not just a perk for lazy people. Though the ...
