Absolutely nothing (as it often doesn't). It's just become an easy tagline to pin on some Xbox zealots when the time is right. Brings back memories of the "game changer" that was Kinect.

Regarding the topic, that's at least a good thing to hear.

Trying to convince yourself that exclusives matter little only suggests that you're trying to excuse the ONE console with the weakest in-house output. If there's anyone kidding themselves, it is you.

Except that the One doesn't run "most games" at double the resolution of the Pro. A handful? Yes.

Exactly. And we've had a million of those, too. That said, as I've been saying since before the thing released, its GPU is the equivalent of a mid-ranged graphics card on PC (1060 6GB- 1070 at most). Nothing wrong with that for a modern gaming console, but Crytek, a studio that knows a thing or two about serious tech, is just confirming what many of us already knew.

@ Bigpappy: He didn't say anything about "matching most rigs". He said, "The Xbox ...

Of course he doesn't. He doesn't game on PlayStation but spends much of his time in articles about its games. You just have to ignore him and move on!

OT: This game just continues to get better and better!

@michelle: No. The PS4 will clear 90 million, just like he said.

Didn’t read the article, it seems.

Gaming is doing just fine, regardless of MS's input.

Most Sony made games have a 2-3 year dev cycle.

Then why are you here if you aren't a Sony fan? Where's the logic" in that?

2454d ago 27 agree2 disagreeView comment

Lazy? No. You obviously don't know hat goes into Game Development.

OT: Sony snapped up this property knowing it was going to be wonderful, and yet, it STILL surprises them! Can't go wrong with that!

If more power is "moving gaming forward", then nothing does it better than the PC. Since power isn't going to change anything, especially for Xbox, then you can just enjoy the addition to the Xbox Family and that's about it.

Besides, if you REALLY were after the "best console on the market", then the PS4 should have been your first choice. Unfortunately, given your history here, I doubt this is the case and your narrative is only changing because...

Unless we're talking Metascores and GOTY awards (which is all they can be raving about, since units sold is omitted from the discussion), the PS4 sat comfortably at the top. However, I respect the Switch and Nintendo's effort to stand out + release their own exclusive software, so as long as these two companies are striving, I'm happy!

"Fillers". You don't even game on PlayStation, so I don't see why it would matter you.

OT: Too many games to play. 2017 was major for PlayStation. 2018 will be bigger!

- The most powerful console is fantastic. Would be better if it had games that actually showed that power. Not simply in-between Pro and PC multiplats.

- Getting rid of Kinect. Great. I don't see any results that have come from it.

- They said". Yeah, they've been saying that for a while now. Results need to do the real talking

- Backwards compatibility. Again, nice touch, but hardly it's not enough (and not something ...

And this is why they'll remain complacent. If their fans won't call them out where they SHOULD be called out - why strive for anything better?

Great read! Since Sony Trademarked the property, it'll be interesting to see where their relationship with KP goes! In my world, I'll be following it no matter!

Not, the PS4 isn't a failure in Japan at all. You obviously don't get the climate over there. Home consoles don't have the pull they once did, yet, Nintendo and PlayStation home systems still sell in the millions.

The only failure there is Xbox. Don't try to lump anyone else in with that.

PS4 will easily reach 100 million by 2019. It should do about 20 million next year, and with it hitting 70.6m by the beginning of December this year, it had a whole month to do about 2-3m more (and that's being conservative). By Jan 1, 2018, it should sit around 73m, making 100 million in 2019 a relatively easy feat.

@Imalwayswrong: Remember, there's a difference between Trademarking and Publishing. Sony owns the rights to both regarding Death Stranding (again, unlike Heavy Rain, where Sony had the Publishing Rights but did not Trademark the game).

Or forget all this, if we are wrong (those of us that actually know how Intellectual Property Rights work), please provide a source to the contrary about Death Stranding. That is, a tangible piece of kit that explicitly outlines Kojima Pr...
