Look, this interface suffers the same drawbacks as the PSEye.
It may use a different technique but it's the same thing from a physics and computer science point of view.
Anyone else with a degree in this type of thing will be laughing as hard as I am.

For those of you that don't know, that's when Microsoft goes to court in California for the RROD debacle.
If they lose they have to refund every person who suffered the RROD.
That could be quite a payout.

If HHG isn't willing to filter out the garbage on his own site by denying nonsensical articles then he is at least partially to blame for this crap being posted.

It's a monocular video interface. (A single camera for the brain dead among us).
It has no real way to gauge depth.
In order to utilize a real world Z axis (actual depth) you need two cameras. By comparing the differences between the two images you can establish the actual distance/thickness/movement of something in a 3D environment. Otherwise it's just a 2D ...
