That loss is due to a $6bn write-off from a purchase made years ago. Otherwise, it would have been $5-6bn profit.
You have to look at the bigger picture here. They have record revenue, all their divisions are up. The only thing that plunged them into a loss was due that write-off.
Oh god, psycho_ps3truthh is the largest and most obnoxious sony supporter to exist. I'm guessing you have migrated from IGN...
Also, why are you focusing so much on kinect. At e3 2012, kinect actually had the least showing time ever since kinect launched. What is wrong to catering to your consumers?? It's just as sony is doing with their wonderbook product for their move devices. Or would you rather they just completely abandon support for them? Either way, ...
It's called having an opinion. Are we supposed to admit to something that we don't agree on? Or maybe you'd rather just live in a world where your viewpoint is always correct and everyone else is wrong.
Yeah, and that seriously dull drawn-out WonderBook showing was just so spectacular....
Edit: Well, looking at all the disagrees, I'm guessing that the majority of the people here love wonderbook...
Honestly, if you found wonderbook to be a winner, I honestly don't see how so many people can bash microsoft for showing a few kinect titles at their e3. They're catering to the consumers (10 million+) that have already bought kinects, the same thing that so...
Most people won't acknowledge forza's accomplishments here. They'll just point out GT sales compared to forza's sales instead.
Great to see both Halo and AC3 still killing it up there. Halo 4 is going to be pretty beast this year.
Both of the franchises have "dat fun factor." It's a pretty subjective issue. For example, the people who enjoy arcade-esque games may consider nfs to be fun, while people who prefer more simulation-type games may consider the forza series to be fun.
Owning an xbox 360 and missing the old nfs games such as underground 2, I'd say I'm going to choose Horizon this holiday season. As what aviator said, criterion's nfs acts a little too much like burnout in terms of style and play.
Lol, that was my reaction too at first.
Dude, that's master chief. The series is about the new guy and the chief, not just the new character.
I'm not clicking that link..
Couldn't agree more with this.
Many people who want current gen consoles have them by now. These consoles are ending their cycle and I guess that's what is so flawed with the idea of a 10 year console cycle: the declining sales overall.
Many people do not really care for exclusives. The way ms markets their console and the multiplats also have an impact. And america is trending towards xbox 360. Among young kids, especially, xbox is seen as the go-to system for their games, namely call of duty.
But you go ahead an call it a conspiracy if you want to.
@KingOptimusOrigin111 What's your definition of "casual gamers?" I'm just curious.
Well, it looks all of those letters did their job.
Hmm, that's actually a good point. I can't believe I didn't think of that...nor the author.
Just give me the next zelda or metroid and I will.
Great list, but Halo 3 will always be at the top of the list in my heart.
@soldierone
If you had a reliable team, it's unlikely the entire team is going to concentrate on you alone sucking you in and popping you out. They'd have your allies to deal with.
Oh, and what exactly was so fanboyish about my comment? I can't simply express a personal opinion without getting labeled as a blind fanboy?? Gee, thanks for the hospitality. Just joined this website and I get labeled as a fanboy...
People buy what they want to buy and like. Don't knock it.
